Finally bruddah, IMO best footage this winter. Everybody may favor the groomed BD/PIPE, BUT THIS IS THE REAL DEAL. There's no question John Florence is on another level, Nate got the mad hook at 2 minutes 45 seconds, only the serious need apply. None of those want to be clowns are going to have anything to do with this, big fat gnarly raw Haleiwa. Epic, been anxious for you to drop this one. If you've never surfed out there, you can have no idea how strong the current is in days like this, separates the masses to the few... Crosby just wants it, I think he's the real underground guy to watch that's not local boy. When I saw Crosby surf the haleiwa contest, he stood out. Though he's not a stand out at the CT level yet, it's only a matter of time....Haleiwa is my favorite. Gotta be the real deal to hang out there. I really like the way you put surfing into words. Gonna pin your comment 🤙

Keen observations I'm in 100% agreement. Watching JJF just flow thru that big bouncy mess i kept thinking "not a drop off water out of place" i know it doesn't actually make much sense but i think you know what i mean. And Nathan idk how he gets better at doing turns the heavier it gets. Crazy. Anyways you know wtf you're talking about which is nice to see, not that there's anything wrong with people just being stoked.

@@OffDaLip yup i thought Crosby was way under hyped in the highlight pkgs from wsl (i hate that name what was wrong with asp?):at the haleiwa contest. i love how he doesn't try to force it, big things in that kid's future. Plus I'm from Dana Point, lived in San Clemente for long time so way stoked on the homey. Good work bro. love the id on the time stamps that has to be time consuming so appreciate the effort for real.

@@JammaLamma Lol. I still call it the 'CT. I spent 4 years in Newport Beach while in college. Know plenty of guys in the Dana Point area. Not many (besides the 'CT leve guys) can do at Haleiwa what Crosby can. San Clemente is representing this winter on the North Shore. Thanks for the compliments, means a lot 🤙🤙🤙

I know Stretch and Troy Eckert a bit from surfing lowers all the time back in the day but we didn't travel North to surf too much, Laguna Beach traffic u know? That reminds me i gotta tell you my Boothy at Creek/ big gravels reef story. Just murdered this wave i had a perfect angle on. Some other time.

I watched him at pipeline (from the safety of the beach) You cannot possibly imagine how cat quick his reflexes are Think of the best soccer, basketball player, whatever, with their super quick fluid balance and reaction It's funny how the beach goes quiet as he walks by No one else gets that response

An ability to make semi-sloppy, yet big waves seem effortless, is indeed, the Essence of Style. Truly JJF and his siblings have it. Haliewa looks to me like a choppy Trestles, with big open walls, but with Hawaiian power, speed, only a bit shorter ride, only more challenging.

Getting lighter on his feet and more Stability as the waves get bigger and gnarlyar( that's the JJF😜 Style) no one alive does it better. Most surfers I see need the waves to smoothen out and decrease in size to do this.

The essence of style is right. Some beautiful surfing here but no one has the rounded, complete carves of JJF. The lack of jerky nose flopping and the silky rail work while making the most radical direction changes. How's he do that? Here's hoping he didn't sell his soul in exchange for that magic.
