Makes me wonder how Rainn Wilson got any of his scenes done. Dwight had to say the most ridiculous lines while remaining straight faced and serious most the times. That has to be very difficult to do. It had to be easier for Krasinski since Jim is usually smirking already as he delivers his jokes. But Dwight has to remain straight faced

Something else that I noticed is, because they liked improv bits and wanted to preserve as much as they could, they would often zoom in to someone who is still in character when others start laughing. Because of that, all the actors always had to be on their A-game cause they could be the highlight of the shot at any moment. Those random reactions from each character end up being why the show is so good.

He said he was “mostly unhappy” with the direction his career took, despite loving his directors, his fellow Office actors, the show’s writers…etc. He was gunning for some top notch leading roles in some big name Hollywood films, and struck out of all of them because of the “Dwight” typecasting…

Rainn (and many other actors) have struggled with various aspects of mental health behind the scenes, so it's nice to see the little positive moments. I watched a thing on how Rainn Wilson was really unhappy through much of his time making the office so seeing him laugh and be made to genuinely laugh by his cast mates is so heart warming and lovely. They might have been the only moments he was truly happy, In the moments of laughter during filming. There's an old saying, laughter is the best medicine. It couldn't be more apparent here. I can see why the most troubled souls want to make us all laugh.
