John Kreese is in my top 3 favorite villains of all time. Despite not technically being a deadly threat, I can feel fear through the screen of what he might pull next. I was literally screaming “NOOOOO” as he was getting shanked. I thought the show killed him off so disrespectfully. But when the big reveal came, I clapped and cheared, not only because he was still alive, but because the show showed us just how unpredictable he is and a clever way to get him out of jail.

Season 5 was brilliant. My only two negatives as such were the lack of a scene between Daniel and Robbie, and also I struggle to believe Silver would delete the footage of him assaulting Stingray but not the footage of him confessing to bribing the referee. It’s also sad but fair to admit Season 6 is probably the end. Almost all character conflicts have been resolved and only the international tournament and Kreese’s escape really remain as the story arcs not involving character relationships. Even then Kreese will likely be the main form of conflict or redemption in Season 6. I’m interested to see how they deal with Cobra Kai. It’s the series name so it must be back in some form, probably a hot take but I’d personally like Chozen to take over it and redeem Kenny, Kyler etc. (given Chozen also needs to find redemption for himself as it’s clear he hasn’t forgiven himself yet) then close it down for good after the final tournament

He went out with a Big Bang to that song at the beginning of the episode and it was a very powerful scene, they should have left it at that. Having him come back to life at the end after tricking them with jello (and somehow faking not having a pulse) was utterly ridiculous. The show really jumped the shark with that crap. It’s like no one can die in this show because it might upset people 🤦🏼‍♂️.

While in Japan competing for the tournament, Silver has gone full pyscho out on bond and has built a giant snake pit in the backyard of Miyagi-do like the one they experienced in Vietnam. Upon returning from Japan, Silver is about to unleash an all out war unless, Johnny or Daniel step up to end it once and for all. Johnny immediately steps up, decent fight, Johnny is about to be knocked off when Silver is kicked out of the way and Kreese pulls him up saving him. Kreese says your fight is now with me. They fight and as it looks like Kreese is about to lose, he glances over at Johnny, flashbacks kick in of them training, "You were my best student" Kreese sacrifices himself to save Johnny by tackling Silver off the bridge along with himself killing Cobra Kai.

I think Kreese will die for good after he redeems himself by saving Johnnys life against either Terry Silver or Miguel’s father. Somebody came up with a very interesting fact that Miguel left his back pack in Mexico when he went home. I think his father will rifle through it, find his address and try to find Miguel which will lead to a big confrontation between Carmen and Johnny. Somewhere in between that situation John Kreese might be the man who saves Johnny from being killed as a sacrifice. Remember, Kreese has no family. He has nothing left, not even his freedom. He looked at Johnny as a son. Johnny has a lot to live for with Carmen, Miguel, Robbie and a baby on the way. Kreese will find out about this and make the ultimate sacrifice for Johnny. That’s when both men will finally reconcile before Kreese finally passes away and his arc is complete. It should end with Kreese passing out with old Kreese smiling as he sees Betsy before it pans on to young Kreese while ‘my way’ is playing and it fades out as they hug.
