I liked the analogies, and one more is probably obvious. The phosphate stone seems to be the real philosopher's stone, the mythical alchemy agent to transmute materials.

Who cares which magic rock comes first, in the long run, we will need both thorium and uranium. If uranium is cheaper and easier right now, then that's the magic rock we should use. I'm glad to see Thorcon going for the easy path with uranium (LEU) just like Terrestrial Energy. This fuel is available now and it's cheap. With a reasonable regulator, both can be built and operated cheaper than coal and natural gas. The Canadian regulators are highly influenced by the American NRC, so Terrestrial Energy may have to go overseas like Thorcon.
