The guitar Harrison is playing is Lennon's - in 1965 Harrison bought two Fender guitars (influenced by his new friend Eric Clapton) and gave one to John as a gift. Lennon immediately had it painted blue, but never used it, claimed he didn't like it - this studio which they're recording in, is at Lennon's house. Harrison showed up one day out of the blue and Lennon happen to have these other musicians ready to record his next album. Harrison ended up staying a few weeks as he helped John finish a few songs and used the "gift" guitar he bought John. This is why the video has that "hang-out" feel, they spent a a few weeks living and recording together.

It was during the recording of the Help! soundtrack. During a session at EMI Studios, George told roadie Mal Evans to go to a nearby music shop to pick him up a Strat and John told Mal to pick him up one, too. Mal came back with two powder-blue Stratocasters, and George used it first on "Ticket To Ride". Both guitars are used heavily on Rubber Soul, particularly both George and John playing them in unison on "Nowhere Man".

@@LeChaunce I thought he had it painted blue...maybe it was he wanted to paint it from being blue bc he didn't like the colour. Similar to what Harrison did. I'm now slightly recalling, it was a reason why they didn't play them on stage. However, Harrison purchased the guitar for Lennon. I recall an interview where Harrison said he had bought it for Lennon as a gift (Lennon might have wanted it - but Harrison purchased it according to that interview). Regardless, after '65 Lennon didn't touch it again.

@@jamesbuckingham357 Check out the book Beatles Gear by Andy Babiuk. Meticulously researched, and the full stories of each of the Beatles' instruments and their histories.

@@LeChaunce I will - but probably like you, I have read so many books on the boys, and each has a different little take, also some follow and carve deeper the common narrative which ends up being false. A Channel on YT (Pop goes the 60's) proves these falsities wrong...for example with Let it Be, showing how George was more than insecure whinner and that Paul and John encouraged him heavily. Where as years of common narrative say that Paul was a big meanie!

@@jamesbuckingham357 Precisely. Pop Goes The '60s does a great job debunking myths, as does the Something About The Beatles podcast -- check that one out if you aren't already a fan... I think you'll really dig it, it's fab, and all the other pimply hyperboles. :)

"Love Minus Zero/No Limit" was not Dylan's response to "Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)" as it was released nine months before. "4th Time Around" from "Blonde on Blonde" was Bob's parody of "Norwegian Wood".

Exactly. And the Beatles didn't rip off Bob Dylan! They took inspiration from him which he loved as they were all friends and Bob was in Awe of them as he said!

Surprisingly in an interview John said that he “now realizes the song is actually more about him than Paul”… and that “everything I blamed Paul for or complained about was something I did as well”. Shows how in tune he was

You can tell John thought he was probably going in too hard when he called him "brother". I mean it was a pretty brutal diss track.

This fight started when Macca release the album Ram and in it the song Too Many People critizicing John for been preachy and taking the first opportunity to break the group. The line "the one mistake you made was in your head" was John answering this Paul's song.

I'm guessing Paul slept great. He didn't need to worry about melodies, music and creating hits did he?

The Dylan dis, was based around the "spirit" of which The Beatles were influenced by him. And instead of being appreciative, Dylan got jealous. A bad look. In the early 60's The Beatles were very influenced by R&B black girl groups, they even covered them, but those ladies never wrote songs dissing the Beatles. You should be proud of lending such influence, not whining because The Beatles are the most popular band around and decided they liked your style so they interpret it into theirs - and the entire time, Beatle-beard just sat there with an awkward smile on face. You guys need a new Beatles "expert".
