He's just a national treasure. They single handedly destroyed disco. God love them. They changed music forever
@catherinehouston95467 жыл бұрын
I love disco♥
@oimavis5 жыл бұрын
That's quite a naive perspective produced & perpetuated by a very this or that media. If punk is a rebellion against 'the man' then disco also was. Its was initially spawned among the violently suppressed minority groups of the time both in terms of race & sexuality. Just like punk, it got noticed by £&$ worshipping record labels who sold the whole lot out for greed. What is referred to as disco now is actually just a mediocre pop imitation. Likewise with most 'punk'. It's no coincidence that fundamentally the two actually share a lot of the same roots.

"in school they take your brains away, they take your soul away".....Lydon said those words a long time ago and he was right. Going to school for more than 4 hours a day ruins creativity and kids become incredibly bored. In finland, kids barely go to school and they're noted as brightest in the world.
@Harvester23610 жыл бұрын
I think we're better off learning through experience rather than what some fascist teacher orders you to do; sit in a dull classroom writing notes which mean nothing.
@arrogant80s4310 жыл бұрын
***** I think you're right. There's something to be said for learning when it's fun and not forced for 8 fucking hours a day and then to top that off you got homework? ugh. I hated school because of that but I did just fine for myself once I got out. We don't even use 85% of the things that they teach in school, in the real world.
@richardmurray20688 жыл бұрын
+Arrogant 80s It sort of has turned full circle now and its there for all to see, go and take a look at your local school from the outside and tell me what it resembles? A jail of course, they even have the fences and security gate to seal the deal
@Theoriginalbigbrillo7 жыл бұрын
Welcome to England !! That probably explains why Pink Floyd are such a popular Band
@MrAussieJules7 жыл бұрын
+Arrogant 80s well said... school needs a big rethink it kills creativity and is not a good social environment. Nowadays with the internet its hardly necessary... and social skills are better learnt in team sports, social dancing, climbing clubs etc. worth reading "Weapons of Mass instruction" by ex-schoolteacher John Taylor Gatto (free PDF on the net).

Often plays the sneery juvenile prat part which he`s perhaps getting a bit old for now. But his other side is eloquent, engaging, charming and hugely interesting. You never know which version he will present but he has more charisma than the entire current British music scene put together, even at nearly 60.

My wife and I met John at LAX. He was very caring, treated us with respect, was talking to someone else but gave us a moment as fans. He pointed at our 2 y/o daughter and said, that’s my biggest fan. We laughed. Then when we landed on the way through the airport he said, “have a good day”. He loves good people, good parents, and was so nice. Even though we interrupted his conversation. Thanks John
