It hasn’t even gotten to that stage yet. We’re still in the phase of simply resisting junk science masquerading as medical necessity. There is no legitimate reason to shut down the economy and restrict social interactions. By framing this as a religious issue, as you are doing here, you are obscuring the larger point that these lockdowns and so called preventative measures are simply violations of personal rights make no sense given the facts and statistics associated with this virus, and should be being resisted over a much wider spectrum than simply churches meeting. More businesses and communities need to be doing what John McArthur and co. are doing here. This isn’t as much a religious freedom issue as a civil liberties issue.

We meet Sun. a.m. and Wed. p.m. for prayer meeting (and we pray for those who are against church). Masks are at the door if you like. The balcony and the two front rows across three sections of seating are for mask wearers if they prefer not to sit with the congregation. We also offer Sun. and Wed. on line and Thurs. is a book study on line doing Mere Christianity w/ 9 books to go. These are safety precautions that seem to be working. No choir, of course. But we sing hymns and have solo specials.

The government doesn’t have the authority to define how Christians practice our faith. Online is not Church. How do you baptize over zoom? How do you take communion over zoom? How do you lay on hands, pray together, heal the sick, give a hug, sing together, a prophesy, a tongue etc over zoom!? Jesus healed sickness, He touched the leper, he raised the dead. “Where two or three are GATHERED TOGETHER in my name, i am THERE WITH THEM!”. We meet in person because God’s presence is glorified & manifested in fellowship & brotherly love. “Do not give up meeting with the brethren” (Hebrews) This is an attack on the church. Safety regulations have come about after years and years of study and a variety of methods tried to accomplish safety. This CoViD edict is nothing more than a panic response. See the difference? If some 5 (or more) years from now we have studied the virus and know closely enough to know what the best and time-tested methodology of keeping it under control is, then and only then do we institute such wide ranging regulations, not on the spur of the moment.
