MacArthur, on the other hand, has a vast knowledge of the Bible and goes to great pains to explain it so articulately. I can honestly say that he changed the direction of my life. I am forever grateful to find such a wonderful teacher. Therefore, I’ve created this KZbin channel in order to propagate his accurate and thorough Biblical teachings.

Animals and birds don’t have a soul per se, as the Bible often equates the soul with the spirit. Humans, on the other hand, are made in the image of God and since the fall in the Garden of Eden have been spiritually separated from their creator. Animals don’t need redemption, but humans do. They will eventually stand before their creator and face judgement. That righteous judge, Jehovah, will mete out a fair sentence to all (for the wages/penalty of sin are death). So, whether you’ve committed one sin or many, you’ll be facing everlasting damnation to hell or everlasting life to heaven. God provided man with a way out through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It’s not about religion, its about relationship. And why shouldn’t we honor, love, and worship the one who created us, and through our gratitude learn more about him, by reading the scriptures?

We must die to self. For we are bought with a price that our Lord Jesus paid for when died on the cross taking on the sins of the the whole world including mine. I repented of the terrible life of sin I was living and the Holy Spirit brought me to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Even thought I didn’t deserve saving, He loved and Eternally Saved me. Basically the Lord was saying exactly what Paul was teaching in the Gospel. As we used to present our bodies as slaves to sin, now present the members of your bodies as slaves to righteousness unto God. Presenting yourself as a living sacrifice to God because of His mercy and grace He has given us. We are free in Christ, but not to use this freedom to gratify the desires of the flesh but to serve one another in love instead. We are crucified with Christ and we died to the law in the body of Christ, therefore we serve in a new way just as Christ lives to God at His right hand, we live to God in Christ.

Stop following leaders who are constantly asking for silver and gold, who are merchandising and selling the gifts of God to get more silver and gold. Connect with the Holy Spirit and forget about silver and gold and always remember that God is supernatural and extremely powerful. Shake off the nonsense that is being taught by todays leaders and 'programs' and get back to God's word and the power that will follow to those that completely believe. Do not be deceived, silver and gold are not the answer. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever and His power is for everyone that believes, and He gives that power freely. Easier said than done, but I've done it for years. It becomes like second nature. The moment I knew I was making progress was when I honestly couldn't decide on a birthday present because I had no want for anything...I really didn't want... anything but what I already had. A life of being poor helped, but nothing like "the peace that defies understanding" given by the Lord. I was grateful... for just being alive.ind you though, my spine is falling apart and I face certain doom, but I had a stroke and gave up, only to be Told to get up and keep going, all years ago. I've come to terms with my last day,...but it's a war till the end, just saying. Don't feel sorrow for me, get out there and do something. Lose your wants and you ideas, YHWY'S are better than you know. Quit saying/thinking "I want..." and "I think...", and try "the best option for those I love is..." and "YHWY would have me...(do, say, think, ect)" Honestly, it's not easy to do. But neither is being a Christian, generally speaking. I didn't get or understand the hard part...I was 12. It takes years.

God doesn't mind you having desires, interests, hobbies and passions just as longe as those things aren't ungodly or sinful. Eastern religions twist this verse to teach that you don't have a self. The Bible is not telling people to deny their self in that way. Obviously you really are a self. It's not even telling people they can't do things they like and enjoy, just as long as those things aren't sinful or against God there is freedom even in denying yourself. We're only being asked to deny every aspect of ourself that's selfish, sinful and doesn't want to do what God wants us to do. Don't take this verse so literally that you have no hobbies, passions or interests, because it's God's will you have those and God's will you exercise Godly freedom. If it wasn't God's will you wouldn't have the ability to exercise any freedom or make any choices at all. John is interpreting this verse in a very legalistic and super literal way in my opinion. The idea that all agendas and passions need to be abandoned is just false. This assumes God doesn't want people to have any interest or passions at all. That they have to deny every aspect of their self. This is obviously only talking about denying yourself in resect to not going against God's will in order to do what you want. It's not saying you cannot do anything you like whatsoever. Not everything you do is against God's will.

I listen to one or more of these 5 minute sermons daily. But as in this sermon, you confuse me. Perhaps it is my lack of understanding or perhaps it is the times in which we live. I do not understand an item when it appears to be concentric circles, of which this sermon appears. I was reared as a Redstone Presbyterian until I married 44 years ago ( and am still married to the same woman). I moved and joined an EUB church which was overrun by the Methodist churches. From the ‘No one but us are saved 1960’s Presbyterian church’ to the open table to the Lord’s Supper of the Methodist church I have become very confused. Throw Satan into the mix and I really cannot see clearly.

I said no to the ugly black t-shirt you must wear when babysitting the kids. I asked if I could wear navy t-shirt with church logo and I would buy it and have it made. The answer was no. They sure didn’t consider the workers in this matter. People wear them many don’t like them. The teaching is good at this church, expository. Is it ok to go to the winery for a church outing? Modern day so called worshipping is simply just singing mantras, exactly like in Hinduism and Buddhism. For some reason they think it focuses the mind on God and gives people special powers in connecting with God or Christ. Most MSM Christian songs are the same, some border on inappropriate love songs. The youth of today are being led astray, the go to church for the concert and when they leave all high on the music they believe they’ve worshiped God.

I agree Larry, if we would practice perfect self denial we would not sin, after all, all sin comes from ourselves. But i think we practice it, just like we practice righteousness. We choose to obey God rather than our selfish desires, of course we fail, and then we fall at the feet of Jesus, but that is the direction of our lives , i think that's the point. Animals live while on this earth. When they die, they would return to dust. We don't need religion, we need God, we need Jesus Christ our Saviour on this earth and eternity, we need the Holy Spirit as a seal to guarantee that we are His chosen people. Without Jesus Christ we are bound to hell for our sins, for the original sin or the fall of Adam and Eve and also our own sin, most especially the sin of unbelief, that we deny God and we reject Jesus Christ as our Saviour, as His Son, who God the Father sent for our sake. In His mercy, we all don't go to hell, but some are, so while you still have the chance, repent and believe in Jesus Christ as our Saviour. This gift is free and is not earned with any good works.
