I attended this game in person. The Blue Angels flyover was completely unexpected and the fans loved it!

I was in the city during the game watching the Blue Angels I missed the game because I thought at the 49ers are going to beat up Rams

Apparently One of the Blue Angels Pilots thought it would be a terrific idea. The Blue Angels Boss said if you get FAA Clearance & Clearance from Candlestick Park then we'll do it. They moved the Blimp Up to 3000ft to give the angels room, sure thing after the Airshow they headed over the Stadium.

@joncechvala4777 totaly agree. I would associate their voices with all the delicious smells of Thanksgiving. It didn't feel like Thanksgiving unless you could hear these guys. Loved it. Great memories.

"We just GOT buzzed." Arguably the greatest flyover in the history of sports due to the team in the sky and the team in the booth. Madden's greatest line ever.

Yes, this was definitely planned, the only people who did not know they would get that close were the commentators and crowd. At the same time, even if something is planned, and even if the pilots are professionals, things still have the potential to go wrong. Being an ex-Navy or current Navy pilot does not mean you are immune from disaster or that you don't still need to take precautions.

I was living on Potrero Hill when this happened, and the Blue Angels overflew my place about 20 seconds before they overflew the game on my TV. It was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen.

Watched the Twins win a couple World Series in one while growing up, not to mention all the fun at Vikings games... Sorry, not sorry. I'd take the Metrodome back in a heartbeat over what they got in Minneapolis now...
