i remember seeing this when it was originally on the OGWT- this song and performance made a big impression on me - i still think its brilliant now, even though technology has come on a long way - you can imagine how great it sounded then

Thanks to a mate of mine who was far more knowledgeable than me and had better taste in music I was lucky enough to see John Martyn live at Wollongong Uni in Australia way back in the late '70's. The story I heard at the time was that John had punched Bert Jansch on their flight to Australia or maybe Bert punched John it was a long time ago. All I remember is the absolute magic of John Martyn - One Man - One Guitar - Many Pedals - Many Effects - One World. A night that I will never forget. Such a privilege to be in the presence of this beautiful man - this genius albeit a very human and flawed genius. This is the song and this is the version that I hope they will play at my funeral when my day comes.
