Okay, it's obvious you have a very strong sense of how to convey and explain ideas. You must either teach something, or be used to making presentations. So structured, and pleasantly straightforward. Thank you pal. +1 subscriber. Plus your playing is effing great

Man that really is the tone. Sounds great. Add the slap back analog delay and a longer delay for big solos mostly and your there. Oh and add 20 more pedals because he’s JM and he can.

Great job and nice understanding of frequency response. The actual breakup on Mayer's sound is a bit different though. I do realize you can't exactly crank the power tubes into distortion and have the cops come knocking.
@MichaTulik3 жыл бұрын
Thats for sure. Different amp/cab and volume is a massive difference. For example I use V30 speakers ( bright and in your face speakers ) which are completely oposite to G12-65 ( very dark, a little muddy ) which are used by John. John's tone is veery mid scooped and it would be really hard to use this tone in most of gigs without getting burried in the mix.
@MintStiles3 жыл бұрын
@@MichaTulik He definitely relies on on push from a cascaded signal into various amps. You are also definitely right that his tone isn't really big band friendly, but works well with his voice, which I think is something many pure guitar players don't seem to understand. I don't really see him talking about his setups really, so it must be a personal thing for him. But you are absolutely on about where his frequency response lie.

Deffinetly. V30 is rather mid boosted speaker but will do the job. John uses G12-65 which are mid scooped.

Hi Michal, how are you out there? This is Felipe from Brazil. You playing is amazing. Do you think the Fulltone Fulldrive 2 MOSFET, added to a TS808, would work cool? Here in Brazil, BB PREAMP and WANPLER are very expensive. Thanks in advance friend! And keep playing, I've subscribed to the channel.
@MichaTulik3 жыл бұрын
I think it would be very close. Wampler is basicaly a Tube Screamer with added EQ, and BB Preamp is just a little more open sounding and "transparent". But it is very subbtle. Fulldrive mosfet is an amazing sounding pedal and cuts through the mix very well ( better than my BB Preamp ). I regret selling it haha. Anyway, I think I could set up pretty much the same tone with any od these pedals so you shouldn't care a lot about it. Ts + Fulldrive will deffinetly sound great and very close.
@felipecapaverde88613 жыл бұрын
@@MichaTulik Thanks for talking about the issue of cutting the mix. Few people remember that. And about this Egnater, what do you tell me? I have a Laney GH100L, I think it sounds more like a JCM. And he is very potent. Can Egnater sound like a Fender style?

And where you live? I live in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, in southern Brazil.
@MichaTulik3 жыл бұрын
@@felipecapaverde8861 Im from Poland. I would tell that Egnater is just something different that either Marshal or Fender. My favourite is AC setting which emulates VOX sound and does it very good. I played Egnater side by side to Fender Blues Deluxe and it was much clearer sounding so it is an amazing amp for the money.

Hi! I have a Boss Volume clean Boost/Feedback pedal (with mid boost control knob), an Ibanez Tubescreamer, a Compressor pedal and a generic overdrive pedal. Would using the clean boost pedal into the tubescreamer get me a similar sound? (using a Fender Blackface style amp). Thanks.
@MichaTulik Жыл бұрын
Clean boost type of pedal is pretty much boosting all the frequencies evenly. Thats why the results may be a little different. I would try to crank the mid boost control knob on the clean boost pedal, which is in front of the Tube Screamer, but I never tried it that way, and I'm not sure how it's going to sound. Let me know about the results when you try it !
