Just because hip hop and pop have taken over doesn’t mean there isn’t any talent, it just needs some time to take the spotlight. And even some of the hip hop and pop artists have that talent. I think we just need to find it, it’s out there somewhere

I'm grateful for each & every note and the crowd is singing along and you see Mr.Mayer just absorbing the whole road he has traveling &the crowd of loyal fans sing his song ..WOW and still sharing his artistry & the awe his presence excudes w/ tints of that duh look like "I can't believe they know the song they're singing it and I made it & is all this for me or is ..oh yeah I think he's humbly saying self" you know what I found the Way to be me .. a humble man ,who figured out how to forget to remember his songs lyrics ..once in a wild blue .o.ent hah "what was that next verse is it ,haha no worries cous, your loyal fans will ever and always be there to sing along.haha🎸💫 Z

Thanks for capturing that. This is JM's wheelhouse IMO. I don't think he will ever get the recognition he deserves, because so many people wrote him off as a womanizer and egomaniac who was eaten up with stardom. The truth is, if many people in his position had their antics go public, it wouldn't be a much different of story. The difference is that he owns it, and at least appears to have learned from it, and has moved on. Here's the thing...no one is a better singer-songwriter right now. No one. He's moved over to pop somewhat, but look at what all he's done. Started off as a band accompanied acoustic guitarist, moved to playing electric in a more conventional way, then toured with a 3-person band playing blues, and for a while landed back at more of a pop venture, seemingly focused more on vocal performance than guitar work. Then....he just up and decides to do a solo acoustic tour, and by all accounts, is killing it every night. He's near the top in talent in every category. Acoustic playing, songwriting, electric guitar, and vocals. And maybe he's not the best at any of those, but who else can do ALL of those things as well as him? Nobody. I love the choices he makes musically...and to me that's what defines how I view musical artists. It's not by their technical proficiency nearly as much as it is the soul and intrigue.

I believe some of that indirect shaming on behalf of Taylor Swift fans also has something to do with him not being gracefully introduced to the younger audience. All artists deserve to have their art judged separate from these shenanigans. John is one of the best of our time.

In the old days, people did not sing with the artist. It's really annoying. You tend to hear their hideous voices instead of the artist. Weird.

Remember that .music has the upper hand in that it breathes through the musician and in Mr John Mayer and bands case it's "only love ,only love" surrounding a core of pure PEACE..Of course thats just my truth .perhaps try going to another concert and try this.. know that you can ,if you truly want to listen you'll only hear the Music & magically the other voices singing around you disappear & Mr Mayer & band well you'll hear him & that's tuning in..Rock and Roll ,thats just that!! Try it ✌️🎸💫Z
