John Mayer is one of the truest musicians of our time. I understand he has said some off color things but if you look past those very human mistakes, you can tell that he is a true, genuine artist that has written some of the best songs of the past 15 years.

“I wanna tell you a story. I always think about my dad when I play this song and God bless him, he’s still running around this crazy world. My dad is 81 years old and he’s a historian of things that very few people are these days. I look at him like half like my beloved father and half like the library, you know half like the public library, you know. And he carries with him a lot of information and a lot of experience and I hope to someday be the kind of dude that he has been and is.

PLEASE READ THIS.. I cried, even before he tells the crowd the meaning of the song.. We always wish for things to be over, to be done.. but we never think that some people had little time left, that the times we wish is over, is the only time that was left for them. I learned this the hard way.. I always think of being 3 years from now.. Never thought that my grandma wouldn't make it in there.. Cherish your loved ones while you can..

The Magic of John Mayer. He's an architect, taking a loud, boisterous crowd, many whose eyes are scanning the crowd for what I don't know, and weaves his spell. He sings and injects his storytelling and not only quiets them into giving their absolute attention, but does so effortlessly with such skill and precision. Beautiful. A Master of this Art!

(Cont.) But I’m playing this song and I have this memory in my head, and I think it sorta sums up what parenting is. Actually it sums up what truest love is, and it’s a story from when I was probably 18 or…19 years old. And I was taking the bus to the airport to fly back to Atlanta, cause I was…yeah, right? Cause I’d visited home for a second and also, you know, you’ve gotta understand my parents are educators, so it’s very difficult to tell them like
