Still playing my 30 year old HD28 my wife gave to me a few years after we got married. Sweeter with time, the guitar too. Thanks for making time to do these videos, there is always something to learn and I love the vicarious feeling I get watching. Cheers Tim

Love that thump sound, just like a heartbeat. I'm trying to get into learning fingerspicking and this should be fun to add to the toolbox. Thanks!

Hey Tim. Great video. I have a 50 plus year old Washburn my wife bought me when I returned from overseas when I was in the army. I also have a Martin and a Taylor. That Martin you are playing is a good one. My younger brother has one and since he is an accomplished Luthier that means a lot. In past videos I thought your style was kind of like Mark Knopfler and now I can see the John Mayer influence. Keep up the good work! Burlington Bill busking on the road and here on you tube.

We Banjo players use those pluck and down strokes continuously. Like on the Banjo you've created a percussive sound as well. You've transfered the Claw Hammer basics of Banjo to the Guitar. I do it occasionally myself when I'm on Guitar. Claw Hammer messes with your head till you establish the rhythm. Sounds wonderful on an Acoustic 12 string also. Late great Pete Seeger had a beautiful large body baritone 12 string Acoustic Guitar that would warm you from your nose to your toes! He used similar techniques like the ones you demonstrate here. I completely enjoy your videos Tim. All of them on such a wide range of topics related to Guitar and music.Peace.

"A Guitar?" Who has just one? I'm downsizing for a move, but the two acoustics I'm keeping are the Legend Guitar Company dread (a few guys from Larrivee started their own co, but then it went belly-up) and a Collings OM2H custom deep body. The two I'm parting with are the Takamine Santa Fe and EF-349.

Nice! Very cool 😎 video today. I just got an acoustic guitar to try out. I’m an electric guitar, 5 string bass and baritone guitar player.

I have three acoustics. An old Washburn D28s ( looks like a Martin HD 28 ) from the late 70's early 80's. , A Tacoma Jumbo from 2009 and a Yamaha APX600 from 2016 I think. It's not good unplugged but pretty great as a stage guitar; which is why I got it.

Nice lesson, thank you. I have a Yamaha Thin Line and a Taylor GS Mini. Both nice guitars but I am really interested in a Yamaha Acoustasonic. I wondered if anyone has any thoughts on them.

Great tunes, Tim! Would love to hear them finished up. I’m playing an older Takamine SW341SC Steve Wariner signature model. Great old guitar. She’s sick now. At the doctors for a checkup/tuneup/setup.

Tim….as always…thanks. Quick question. If you write something does it belong to you or is it become a shared creation with Lanco? I’m guessing you have some kind of written agreement with the band and wasn’t sure if intellectual property/creations were a part of that deal.

I’m trying to retrain my right hand after not picking up finger style acoustic for fairly long time. Do you practice it a little every day to keep your thumb isolated for bass notes.
@TimAvenMusic4 ай бұрын
I did at one point, I dont consistently practice it now just because I've done it so much, but at first that is really important!
