He's earned it many times over. JM and Derek Trucks have summited the heights of guitar god on the trail out of blues/pop. There are other routes though, like the hard rock wizardry of Steve Vai and Guthrie Govan, the compositional complexity of Tosin Abasi of Animals as Leaders and Yvette Young of Covet, ... I do have my favorite concert versions I watch over and over and some are older ones, his Good Love Is On The Way and Vultures is Live in LA version. He does not have any bad versions!!

Steve Jordan and him swapped instruments in a few of his older shows live. He’s a decent percussion player, definitely due to his great sense of rhythm on the guitar. What’s more impressive is his ability to keep in time with a Steve Jordan playing bar chords lol.

It's actually not a triplet. It's a grouping of one eighth note and two sixteenth notes.
