VIDEO SUMMARY:
Aidan Gallagher sees John Mayer live at the Forum in Los Angeles. This show took place on March 13th of 2022 and was part of the Sob Rock tour. This video begins in my home studio as I discuss my expectations of the concert, my appreciation for John's music (i.e., acoustic, JM Trio, Where the Light Is, Continuum), and my top song picks for what I want him to play at the show. After this we begin a vlog style montage of the beginning of my day and me driving over to the show. Around 7:30 the show begins with Yebba as its opener. Joining her is Pino Palladino on bass in attrition to a few others. Yebba did an incredible job at the show and if I recall correctly, the crowd particularly liked when she performed her song Boomerang. Anyway after this the stage crew began the setup for John's band. We had second row seat and we could see everything as the stage was RIGHT THERE. So while we waited for John to go on stage we listened to 80s songs and I looked at John's amplifiers -- the John Mayer Signature Two-Rock and the Dumble Steel String Singer. After a bit the stage went dark and the band walked on. John entered from a whole in the floor and the show erupted into a triumphant version of Last Train Home. Some of the songs from the show included Belief, Wild Blue, Who Says, I Don't Trust Myself (With Loving You), Walt Grace's Submarine Test, I Guess I Just Feel Like, Neon (Acoustic), Free Fallin' (with David Ryan Harris), Edge of Desire, Slow Dancing in a Burning Room, and of course Gravity. I had an amazing time at the show and it was truly wonderful to see this man play such great music in person. For me John is truly the GOAT and getting to see your favorite band live is something everyone should get to do and I'm just so happy that I finally did (from the 2nd row of seats mind you!). Anyway, I hope you enjoy/enjoyed the video and I'll see you again shortly.
All love ❤️,
A
