Again, Drew Jurecka is an amazing musician. Here he is with the amazing Canadian musician Jeff Healey on an old timey swing favorite "Wild Cat". This video is from 2006 at a Beautiful Noise performance series produced in Canada by Original Spin Media. The series was filmed at Toronto's Berkeley Church performance and event venue. All rights reserved. And a very bittersweet RIP to wunderkind Jeff Healey ( the world lost him in 2008).
From Wiki: The piece is called "Wild Cat" and it's an instrumental composed and originally performed by legends Eddie Lang (GUITAR) and Joe Venuti (VIOLIN). It is a showcase piece for Venuti's talent as a violinist. His performance has been held to "offer some good examples of bow rockin'."One critic described the work as follows: "Wild Cat" illustrates the salient features of Venuti's unique violin styling. He utilized the full range of the violin, from low rich tones to the high, ethereal sounds near the bridge... The melody of the popular song "Wild Cat" was completely transformed through Venuti's ingenious improvisation on its underlying chord structure.

wow - 2 special Canadian musicians. I met Jeff many years ago and Drew just graced my new album with his profound talent. So sweet to see them here together. Drew knocked it out of the park on my new tango Forever Together Apart ....playing both violin and bandoneon. Not at the same time....ha!
