Some more about this song. I recently moved from the West to Tennessee. Back here, they aren't afraid to quote Jesus or talk about him for however you like. Black, white or I don't care they are connected to something more spiritual back here and I love these people.

I've witnessed the same thing while traveling around some Southern states. Nice to see people in restaurants bow their heads in public prayer before eating their meals.

I love this man. I used to hear him in my little radio when I was a kid. I´m from Argentina, 43 now, and this man with his song put me in places that I´ve never been in United States of America. The power of an artist and how a really well done song could make you travel.

Something better than what we see right now, that is for sure. Is his song a reference to something past which we can't have right now?

Thank you and bless you for this song! Love this song so, so very much- We love the small town we live in- brings tears, happy tears to our eyes as we are thinking of our musician son, Patrick, who is now in California- moved from our small Midwestern town, looking to make his dreams come true.

Got given some old records, from a older lady I work with, as I just got my first record player, just this week. One of the records was "scarecrow". Always knew the hits of mallencamp, but was surprised how good this album is! Wondering why he no longer capos the guitar at the 4th fret?
