I'm 43 yo and mewing for about 2 years now in very hard way. When I say "very hard way" I'm talking about 12 to 14 hours a day. The results are so amazing. I was suffering for 15 years before discovering a video from Brett Maverick about mewing. I've started to apply all the advices. The first 4 months were absolutely a difficult period. I couldn't mew more than 1 or 2 hours a day without suffering, chew gum during a long period was too difficult. So I have decided to stop the chewing gum practise and only focus on mewing concentrating my effort on the back of my upper palate. After 4 months, I felt something happening like a rupture just right in the middle of my palate. Since that day mewing became really easy and I've never suffered from my teeth and cranial bones since. Even my mum asked me if I have done something with my face. She said that I had less wrinckles than 2 years before, espcially the lion's ones and the under the eyes. I have even seen that my skin quality change: less sebum effect, color more unified. 8 months ago, my left cheekbone moved up and my left nasal paasage simply enlarged itself allowed me to breath in a way I would had never suspected. And there is so many little things I've seen changing these past 2 years. Thanks John and Mike Mew. Because I was that closed to ask my dentist to remove my wisdom teeth even if he was totally against claming I should have enough room for them.

Finding alignment is actually like magic. Anybody who goes to the gym and has experienced the importance of mind-muscle connection when working out will know the feeling of something CLICKING in place, and just starting to work right. This is what happens when you nail "proper form". The same thing happens when I finally start breathing properly after a few minutes of face massaging and exercises.

If you look at pictures of adults with serve cleft in underdeveloped countries, where they had no access to cleft treatments, yes they have open clefts but most of them don't seem to have underbite. If you compare them to people from developed countries with serve cleft where they got treatments for cleft since they where babies, many people have underbite that they need to get surgery to fix. I think thats very weird.

And as a carrying consultant also the lack of movement many infants are not carried on our bodies but are in containers a lot of the time this impacts postural development, vestibular and proprioception.... Larz i’m 22 & started when i was 20. it took awhile for me to understand the concept but now i got it. literally practice makes perfect. i have a thigh gap now! & hips, which doesn’t run in my family. never in my life did i think i’d ever have a thigh gap or hips cause you know, knock kneed is hereditary in my family😂 so the first time in 22 years i’m loving my new body. id say the most important thing in mewing is correcting your feet posture & toes. i used to be flat footed, & now i have an arch in my foot thanks to mewing. just remember to always have your knees apart by pointing your toes, tucking in your chin, keeping your chest up & your mouth closed, but make sure it feels natural. you know the term “pinkys up” basically just like that feeling. speaking of pinky’s, i finally have knuckles from mewing, & pretty hands/feet! i’ve never had pretty hands or feet so all this mewing turned me beautiful & now i’m confident af

Hope you read this Sr. , sorry if is too large, but please read it, I am 17 yo fella living in México, I fortunately i crossed with a video on Tiktok talking about mewing, I know funny, and it was the answer for a lot of questions, I used to have an aesthetic face, but like 3 years ago my nose start to get bigger and with a hump, my forehead get bigger, and start developing overbite, not too severe but i was getting uglier, and start to get a little depressed because of that, so now i understand, it is an horrible feeling to know that you were supposed to be more attractive, but now you wont, i did not mouthbreathe a lot, but i did sometimes, also i would sleep quicker face down, and certainly I did not know nothing about the tongue posture importance, now i start to Mew, and i work as an inmigrant in USA (México wages are real crap), I am saving every money that I can to go to UK and start a treatment with you personally, i need to hurry because as i have read, age is a crucial factor for changes and i am about to get 18 yo, i really want to improve, if only I would have read this some years ago man, this should be teach on schools really, now I tell to breathe through the mouth and tongue position to every kid I see haha, to my friends and cousins, what made me feel kinda bad is that when I told about mewing to a "friend" of high school , which i use to workout with and shared some tips about fitness, he told me "I already knew that 2 years ago" and I asked him why he havent told me about mewing before since both would talk about defining jawline and facial structure, I told him about my overbite and that I did not know why was my face changing like that, and he told me "I need to have some advantage" I was dissapointed, I thought brorherhood was about helping each other, not to compete, thank you for not being that type of person and sharing this information with us Dr. Grettings from México, Carlos.

Hmmm, interesting. I've been breast fed til 2 years of age, yet have have crooked teeth and improper forward growth. I do agree tho that it certainly affects the growth. Because later on I didn't have proper tongue posture. I even remember that I used to sleep with my mouth open when I was 5 and older, and maybe even before 5. Anyways I actaully thought about this same topic some time ago. maybe breast feeding helps with proper facial growth since swallowing pushes the tongue up against the palate, so it helps the palate expand.
@MegaHux
@MegaHux 4 жыл бұрын
Your thoughts on breastfeeding are correct and well documented. The swallowing pattern is completely different from that in a bottle feeding child. However, it only starts babies off in the right direction. Afterwards we still live in the modern world - slouch on soft furnishings, stare at screens and eat soft foods and snacks that encourage an incorrect swallowing pattern. Malocclusion is becoming exponentially worse as those lifestyle changes become more extreme and more widespread internationally.

this is gonna sound weird but, I have trouble getting the saliva up with my tongue using a suction force and a sweep motion. The suction force and sweep motion sucks in my front teeth and pushes it and I don’t know how to prevent that from happening, so I know that it’s not the strength of my tongue that’s the problem.
@ajay.s031
@ajay.s031 4 жыл бұрын
MaxMoon try this only use the suction force when ur keeping ur tongue on the roof of ur mouth and not when u swallow. When u have to swallow relax ur tongue and let the saliva go on ur tongue and then sweep and swallow. I mean think of it like this when ur drink something ur not sucking the liquid in ur just letting it come in and ur tongue is completely relaxed and all u do is just swallow and then go back to natural position. The only time u should have a suction force is when ur tongue is on the roof of ur mouth and also keep ur tongue a lil bit more back from ur front teeth they shouldn’t be touching or a little near it

Ajay Sudhan ur right I think that the sweep isn’t that important so I should just let it my whole tongue drop. Mike says that you should only drop the tip of your tongue but idk it doesn’t seem that important if I don’t.

I suggest you watch Dr. Mew's videos. they explain it perfectly. basically, place your tongue on the upper palate (like when you say the word "sing", that's the right position for it, the 'ng" naturally places your tongue in the correct position) whenever you catch your tongue floating about, just say SINNNG that's how I do it. keep you tongue there, make sure the entire tongue is on the palate not just the front part, don't be pushing your front teeth though, the back of the tongue MUST be up as well, this is essential. and that's it, you're mewing. some people do hard mewing by applying further pressure to the palate using the tongue; pushing up basically. Do it as often as possible till it becomes a habit for you, results depend on your age and facial structure. its really a great trick. hope it works for you

Well, they had success with treating early thirties at there clinique and I herd about some 40-year having results. I think the general rule is the more growth you have the more you tongue and posture can influence it. The older you are the less growth you generally have. They say under 25 is idle if you want to changes over a short period, but it still takes a long time. So IMO you can see changes but it will take longer than someone younger.
