I have been to many John Moran Art Auctions over the last 12 to 13 years. I have purchased a few modestly priced pieces that I treasure. Though this Nicolai Fechin sold for $950,00, you do not have to be a millionaire to collect wonderful original art that adds such joy to a person's life. Even if you do not buy anything, it is very exciting to just watch the auction, and you learn so much.

I have no idea how much the presenting gentleman knows about Fechin. This portrait focal point are the hands not the eyes at all. (Since it is a profile rather than a three quarter. I am of the opinion that Fechin saw a lot of his father who ws a carver himself who worked with wood of course.
