The series is superb for locations, with so many characters, all outdoor scenes, intriguing situations but beside three or even four murders per episode, you never see him, or the other policemen, with a gun in his hand, and everything's so calm and relaxing. Big budget for this series. Not like those noisy and anxiogenic American series.

Bergerac diffusé par Canal Plus?? Heu non, la 1ère diffusion française c'était sur la Cinq en 1988, et plus tard FR3... Donc parfaitement visible sur les chaines généralistes françaises... / (en)Canal Plus never aired Bergerac, its first French broadcast was with La Cinq, back in 1988 and later on by FR3... Thus on generalist French TV channels...

Here, John Nettles is clearly a peacemaker, plenty of opportunities to be critical of Germany, but he chooses to be "complimentary. While living in England, I began to understand this mentality. However, as a true lover of Midsomer Murders, I watch it, "religiously" everyday for the past 2 or 3 years and have gotten others "hooked" on it, I did notice that not one Black, Asian, or person of color was in any of the 13 Seasons that he was the "star" of the show. I'm sure he could have "mentioned" the absence of such personalities. When Brian True-May finally confessed his sin of "omission" he was first "suspended" then fired from the series. John remained, again, taking the path of "least resistance" by admitting that their were many opportunities to use persons of color in the series. I feel bad for him that he doesn't have a backbone.

that quote about animals and children is a misquote of the accepted rules about acting and borrowed from William Claude Dukenfield, better known as W. C. Fields. one rule that was real was never look directly at the camera ie the fourth wall. now of course, actors do it all the time, when sharing their characters inner thoughts, with the audience

All the people of Alderney we're evacuated to the UK and Guernsey,Jersey after the war ended. They returned to there homes. Everything was destroyed .they had nothing they even had to pay for the boat trip back home .the british government neither the germans gave them any sort off compensation for rebuilding the island they should be ashamed off themselves

ITS TOM BARNABY detective :D PS: i know english hates germans, but english became indian/african, and germans become turkish/arabic, so no more hate please!
@DeirdreMcNamara Жыл бұрын
No English do not "hate" Germans, just "Nazis." We know that the real Germans rejected Herr schickelgruber and his bullies for 12 years, but the austrian was very well funded and wore them down. We know that Germans are "thorough" so when they fell they fell hard. No, I don't hate Austrians either - they gave us Mozart and Schubert...we are Christians, we must hold hands and return tot he friendly rivalry of "national statehood," and start to protect our European Christian heritage, be it Viking, Saxon, Roman, Celt, Anglo, in origin. It is unique and advanced. So Viva la difference und Freunde mit Freude!!! Ciao! Beannachtai Farvel...

I just watched to learn about the occupation of the Channel Islands. And John Midsomer scriptwriters cannot come close to my plot-lines, except I don't write certain ones in case some maniac would try to put them into action and I would not want that on my conscience. Midsomer's homicides are so convoluted that there'd be an army of cops and civilians on site before they'd finished their weirded set ups, so little chance of a copycat there!
