So many little things went wrong on this one, and my jogging started to dampen my mood by day 7, but I made it. 146 miles of the Jog on 8 days, and onto the next trail - the great glen way.

Death to ticks!!! the bane of the outdoors!! I'm a tree surgeon and work in the logging industry. I think you will be ok if nobody is working and out of work hours. I think as long as you stay well clear of any chainsaw noise or machinery you should be pretty good to go just use common sense. and remember it's swings and roundabouts them 16 miles of shity road walks will at some point be followed by miles of the most epic scenery you have ever seen! it will make you appreciate the good stuff more. be safe take care!

Permethrine helps with the ticks. Spray your tent and all your gear. It will kill ticks for months. I know chemicals are less than ideal but when it comes to ticks I don't care.

I wish I could be there with you in these amazing scenery. I can double as a body guard. This adventure seems like a lot of fun. I would recommend a pair of light weight running shoes for the road to save your feet.

You're doing great and making good time. Alot better than I could do. Lol. I know it's no good to you now, but look into some custom insoles for your shoes. When I destroyed my ankle years ago I had to get some made and it helped me out quite a bit. I was in the military at the time and had to get a softer sole for my boots to help out also. Something to think about if you haven't. Looking forward to the next video already. Take care and stay safe. 👍👍👏👏

Hey jay, thanks for the advice... Unfortunatly when j looked into it before, the insoles are all solid and I need something with a bit more cushioning for the amount of impact on these trails. But will keep trying our different brands of shop ones in tbe hope something works x

The music you used and shots of you walking through the forest reminded of the woodland scenes :)) emotionally brutal for sure though, super sad game, but beautiful, y’know? Kinda like real life! 😅

I'm liking sweary Beca - keeping it real! Are you sure you weren't on an animal trail through the gorse bush ? That would be about 3 years worth of growth down south 🤨probs more up north (I used to walk on and trim back footpaths with chest high gorse)

May the butcher's dog hang its head in shame...you know that "serious walkers" take days off , like resting up for 24 hours or so to give the body some recovery, any way I hope you can complete the trail as a through walk but that's not to say there's any shame in doing it by sections. Well done on making Inverness, the percentage of people living there who have actually walked to John o Groats must be very low, I d estimate less than a half of 0.1%, if that.The offer of a pitch in my back garden in Edinburgh still stands when you reach the Pentland Hills..good luck bonny lass .
