John Padgett Leaving Princess Cruise Lines, To Be Replaced By HAL President 🫣🛳️

John Padgett is leaving Princess Cruise Lines and being replaced by Gus Antorcha who is currently the President of Holland America Line. Here are my thoughts on the changeup, plus what I hope and fear may come next for Princess. Let me know what you think in the comments below - are you happy to see John leave? Oh my…….I always knew the Easter Bunny was real! That absolutely made my day. In addition to loving the Easter Bunny, I agree with everything you said. I do worry about the price increases. My husband and I have no kids, we are retired and in our early 60’s and our idea of a nice cruise is having less children on board and that is why we always choose Princess. I absolutely have nothing against children but there are plenty of cruise choices for families. Call me selfish but I just want Princess to stay mainly an active older cruise crowd.

Princess has become our favorite cruise line. I think the disaster of the Sun Princess launch was the biggest downfall for Padgett. To launch a ship that was not even close to being finished is inexcusable. Need to book all of our plus packages before the price increases.

I think that the reason Padget is leaving is for many reasons. As a long time (and mostly) customer of Princess, since Covid I have felt the changes with Princess coming. Between the terrible presentation of the Sun Princess at first seemed more miss than hit from what I have heard and watched. This is why I won't cruise a new ship until it's at least 1 year in service. Padget came to Princess to bring in the Medallion. It's mostly complete with still a few glitches with the app. They don't need to change the atmosphere of the Princess ships - update to today's technology, yes. We are taking our retirement cruise in 2026 for a 54-day voyage. Told the hubby I thought it was best to do Premier than Plus because of the length of the cruise AND that I felt that the pricing for those inclusive packages would be higher next year. Heck, I remember when it was just one option of Plus that was very simple with Wifi, drinks and gratuity for $40 a day. What's up with the bunny rabbit walking in the background?? LOL. I agree with your assessment 100%. Your upcoming 54-day cruise sounds like a dream vacation! I am not sure about the bunny, maybe he's a displaced mascot? 😋🐰

My first Princess cruise was the Fair Princess to Mexico out of LA. I was hooked.

I am a HAL girlie at heart (I am not old though, I'm 35 lol) 💖 but I hope Princess stays Princess, you know what I mean? I do kind of hope that Princess (and HAL for that matter) does away with like, 3rd and 4th passenger sails free/kids sail free promos. Keep the kids away 😂

I definitely know what you mean and agree on the 3rd/4th passenger promotions! Someday I will try HAL - is the 9PM bedtime perception wrong? A comedian once described audiences on Holland like looking out over a field of cauliflowers. 🤭👵🏻

​@Sotweetie The Music Walk on HAL definitely has people out past 9, (especially on the newer/bigger Pinnancle class ships), and also the Orange Party, but my husband and I definitely aren't some of them 😂 on land that's our bedtime lololol
