You really need to hear Dream Theater live to fully understand how much of a wall of sound Petrucci lays down with just one guitar. I saw them with Iron Maiden a while back, and Maiden was great, but Petrucci produced a bigger fuller sound with just one guitar than Maiden did with three guitars.

I wonder how good they sound with the Mark II C+ Neural DSP plugin. Ola just curious, the JP II C Head has a built in Cab Clone in the back. Why didn’t you just use that over the separate Cab Clone pedal? Cheers!
@heavymetalchaplain3874 Жыл бұрын
The JP2C has the older Cab Clone with a resistive load whereas the newer pedal has a reactive load. This makes playing the amp feel more like it would through a real speaker and may also give a more accurate amp tone though the line out when compared to the older resistive load.

What is an impulse response? Is it a preset? Or would one have to load the IR into Neural DSP and then tweak the amp settings to get a desired tone?
@seanwallace7517 Жыл бұрын
You still need to dial in the amp. Think of an impulse response as a capture of a mic’d up cabinet (the mics used, cabinet speakers, mic positions, etc). Tone mostly comes from the cab/speakers and how they’re mic’d up so impulse responses make a huge difference. Most people say it’s about 80% of your tone.
