I want to encourage everyone who enjoyed this video to memorize Romans eight. If John piper can do it, so can you. If actors and actresses can memorize lines for their movie, we can memorize scripture. After all, who should have more motivation, a soap opera star or a Christian? You can do it!

***** The second coming of Christ is referred to as "The Day of Reconning" for a reason. And God mostly punishes His disobedient children (carnal christians) in this life.. Everyone else He is being patient with in hopes that they will come to a saving knowledge of Christ. 2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."

I started drinking when I was 16. I would drink at parties, but I also started drinking alone because I was unhappy, and I was in a lot of emotional pain all the time. My mom was very aggressive when I was younger, and my brother hated her and so did I. He started hanging out with shady people, he started failing all his classes, he was never home, and my parents fought all the time. I also ran away several times. I was always trying to figure out a reason as to why I was here or what the purpose of life was. So, I started looking at different philosophies, religions, and beliefs. When I was 18 after I was hungover, I got on my knees and I prayed for the first time. I asked if God was real that he would show me he was real because I couldn’t take it anymore. I was crying when I prayed for this. At that moment I felt a presence come over me like a wind. It was barely noticeable, but it was unlike anything in my life I had experienced up until that point. I was surprised when I felt it and I remember saying “what was that?” after that experience I pretty much forgot what happened and kept partying, until my senior year when I got arrested. After my arrest, my parents lost all their trust in me and I was expelled from high school. I was told never to come back. At that time, I felt afraid and hopeless. That’s when I started looking for God, and I prayed that he would reveal himself in my life and that he would give me signs. My prayers began getting answered so consistently that I couldn’t deny that God was doing something. It was mysterious and compelling. I ended up in Church and started reading the bible hours a day. I stopped hanging out with all my other friends because they were continually getting arrested. I was able to forgive my family and myself and to ask to be forgiven. I noticed how at Church people were judgmental and how they formed cliques but were afraid to be around anyone else different from them. It increased my faith because I realized Jesus was not like that and ever since I was young, I saw people as people regardless of who they were. After a while, it’s like I could see God's presence was in my life and then it felt like he wasn’t, and then he was, and then he wasn’t. One day I woke up and felt more depressed than I ever have in my entire life. I felt like I was dying on the inside. That night I prayed, and I said, God, I don’t see my life five years from now I'm going to die Jesus save me Lord, please save me. I was weeping when I said it and when I asked him to save me, I felt a presence inside of me like a heartbeat, and I felt it once like a pulse, and I said Lord please save me and I felt it again even stronger. It was like radiance. When I woke up the next morning, I had transformed everything felt brand new like I was a kid again. All my fears and all my racing thoughts everything was gone. I looked at my hands, and I said this can’t be real it’s impossible. When I looked at myself in the mirror, I saw a different person. I started praying, and the holy spirit became entirely real to me it was washing over me and inside of me. It was total love and peace, and I heard a voice but not an audible one, it was an inner voice. It said I am with you; I love you, I will never leave you, it’s done it’s finished. That was May 3rd, 2009, and ever since then I’ve followed God, I have seen many things change and many things I know wouldn’t have changed without faith and belief. I know what it’s like to be lost to feel you have no hope. Don’t ever think you’re stuck, or life can’t change because it can. My mom is a Christian now, Its night and day. Some of the things that went away during that period were severe anxiety and my addiction to alcohol. I’ve seen and experienced so many things that are miraculous and seen how God has worked in my life. When we ask God to forgive us for what we’ve done and turn away from our sins and wrongdoings and we believe in Christ's sacrifice everything changes. His word says if we confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that he died and rose again we will have eternal life but not just life after death but abundant life in the present. Our sins are erased not only past, present, and future but our burdens and fears are lifted also. Our thoughts, our minds, our hearts, our souls are transformed and united with God and we know his spirit lives in us. If you seek, pray, and knock you will know JESUS IS KING!!! HE LIVES!

What a testimony brother! That gave me such a strong sense of fellowship with you and I don’t even know who you are in the flesh but i know you’re Christs and I Love you!❤ I came from a family of ten kids(2 of my sisters have passed away and recently my earthly father) I was number 7, (6boys and 4 girls)my dad was on and off hard drugs but still wasn’t a terrible father he provided and worked hard and was ex-military, alcoholic too my mom drank a lot and would sleep all day my older siblings were left to help raise us. Growing up getting headlice almost every year and being picked on in school, because I grew up with no eyebrows and had messed up teeth I didn’t have my own bedroom till I was almost a teenager. Me and my brother hunter would sleep on the couch in the living room. We went to youth group church every Wednesday night and some Sundays. To give my parents relief because having ten kids is intense I got 4 now and I could’ve only imagined 6 more on top of that. 😂 I smoked weed and drank from a young age and smoked cigarettes as well as it was really easy to get away with things because of how many siblings I had that were doing similar things and always getting into trouble themselves. I had a brain aneurysm and I called out on Jesus Christ and His Father for mercy on me so that my child wouldn’t grow up without her earthly father. I was 19 years old at that point. I’m 26 now. ❤❤❤ WORTHY IS THE LAMB! Here’s a poem/literary essay written by John Flavel a puritan from the 1600’s. He also has a book called “Heart Work” it’s on KZbin and I’ve been taking notes from it as well. But yeah here’s that small piece of literature he wrote 400 years ago. Father: My son, here is a company of poor miserable souls, that have utterly undone themselves, and now lie open to my justice! Justice demands satisfaction for them, or will satisfy itself in the eternal ruin of them: What shall be done for these souls? Son: O my Father, such is my love to, and pity for them, that rather than they shall perish eternally, I will be responsible for them as their Surety; bring in all thy bills, that I may see what they owe thee; Lord, bring them all in, that there may be no after-reckonings with them; at my hand shalt thou require it. I will rather choose to suffer thy wrath than they should suffer it: upon me, my Father, upon me be all their debt. Father: But, my Son, if thou undertake for them, thou must reckon to pay the last mite, expect no abatements; if I spare them, I will not spare thee. Son: Content, Father, let it be so; charge it all upon me, I am able to discharge it: and though it prove a kind of undoing to me, though it impoverish all my riches, empty all my treasures, (for so indeed it did, 2 Cor. 8: 9. “Though he was rich, yet for our sakes he became poor”) yet I am content to undertake it. Flavel: Blush, ungrateful believers, O let shame cover your faces; judge in yourselves now, has Christ deserved that you should stand with him for trifles, that you should shrink at a few petty difficulties, and complain, this is hard, and that is harsh? O if you knew the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ in this his wonderful condescension for you, you could not do it.

Changes I couldn’t make by myself he’s strengthening me to walk in the spirit. I thank him for that, I pray to him a lot more than before. In god I hope, anyone who sees this know that god will never leave you he’s always there you may not feel him but he’s always there watching over your life. You will blessed all the days of your life.

IF they only knew the profound nature of your comment. IF anyone IS HIS your comment would bring a standing ovation as the answer to so many who seek Him or are seeking affirmation of their belief. No doubt of His love, No doubt of His grace, No doubt of His Spirit, our flesh, His Son, our salvation. The no wiggle room of the chapter clearly exposes the heart of man. 1 The road is narrow 2 He knows the heart of men an still He lets us live. Wherever you are today I thank you for that day you sent a message to the world and no one listened. Thank you for your comments. Until we meet again

I memorized this chapter last year. I have memorized several books as well. It is a wonderful way to renew our minds. I also had my kids memorized chapters and books. It doesn't make us more holy, but helps our prayers, our thoughts, and our joy. It also helps to know what is true and what is false.

This scripture read by Piper added with this music helped me one dark night when I completely despaired in pain (post 2 back surgeries and facing having to wear a catheter all my life). It literally saved my life. Glory to God I was eventually fully healed, able to walk and yes urinate on my own. I was and remain so thankful to God. I credit Bob Brown at Stony Lane Baptist Church in Rhode Island for leading me to this manna from heaven when I most needed it. He was literally used by angels and so was the person who put this Piper read Holy Scripture to music so dramatically.

Whose here with me in 2022? The world is hurting, now is the time to come together. I praise God everyday. He is working miracles, all the time. We just have to listen, watch for them. When we notice them, we acknowledge those miracles, we praise God and thank him for those miracles. It could be the smallest thing. Keep your eyes out, he IS showing us every single day that he is right there with us. Now is the time to put on that armor of God. He is right there with us. Praise God.

I have listened to this countless times. Piper has said repeatedly that Romans is the 'greatest book of the Bible', and I wholeheartedly agree. Every word is laced with the Lord's mercies and lovingkindness. Romans, and more specifically Romans 8, spur me on to press all the more harder in the race set before me. I can't wait to meet Paul one day in Heaven and worship Christ eternally. All the glory be to Him, always.

I was raised Catholic and to be very honest I really only knew Jesus in name only. I struggled for literally years before I really understood GRACE. It used to drive me crazy because I would hear teachers/preachers talking about grace, but somehow I just couldn't reconcile grace with what I had learned as a Catholic. I remember taking my Bible and going to a community pool and reading and rereading Romans chapter 7 over and over - praying that God would help me understand. It finally sunk in that day and my understanding of who Jesus was and what He did for us changed forever. So as beautiful as Romans 8 is, Romans 7 has a special place in my heart. I am going to try to memorize 7.

DabbaYabbaDo I too was raised a Catholic. I can remember as a young Roman Catholic hearing the 2nd chapter of Acts being read in catechism. To a young imaginative boy it was a electrifying tale that offered great hope of experiencing it. Tongues of flame over the head, speaking in tongues, who would not want to see that happen. I even went several times to the back of St. Anthony church during recess, to read the 2nd chapter of Acts again in the days before the sacrament of Confirmation. The long, dry ceremony in Latin was a great disappointment to me. I even asked a nun afterwards why nothing took place similar to the account of the book of Acts. I do not remember her answer but do remember she sidestepped my question. I can honestly say I was agnostic from that point on because what was taught by the Catholic Church regarding Confirmation did not line up with scripture. I felt very close to God at that age but that closeness fell away due to the disappointment of not receiving the Holy Ghost. Some 25 years later I received the baptism of the Holy Ghost and spoke in tongues. It was a powerful and emotionally moving experience. The trouble is, the traditions of men, in most all denominational Christianity, makes the word of God to no effect. Mark 7:13 KJVS [13] Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye. Our Lord was talking about the Pharisees of his day, but I think it applies to many of today's Christian churches. Perhaps you will visit my website and read about how grace saves us. Romans 7 is an interjection by the Holy Spirit specifically for the Jews, "speaking to those that know the Law" - the non Jew can go straight from R6 to R8, I've never been under the law, and I don't need the confusion that R7 'can' bring if it's not understood correctly in context. (My old man died with Jesus on the cross and I am no longer a sinner, I am a SAINT. Period.)

I was just thinking about these verses today..every single day, I repeat to myself "not the flesh but the spirit" and that gives me enough courage to get up and pray and read the Bible, without laziness nor excuses. When I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior and I decided to carry my cross and follow him, I crucified my flesh and I turned around from sin. Therefore I do not live for the flesh anymore but for the spirit. I fight in spirit, I rejoice in spirit, I do all things through the Spirit of God which strengthens me. This is how you fight your battles brothers and sisters, through the Holy Spirit, in Christ, with God that strengthens you. Don't give up, God bless you all!
