I like Kurt Vile , he is another of a small group of artists who don't give a sh!t about the record company or commercial stuff. He just gets out there and plays all over, and if u don't like him, well don't listen. But here's the news, John Prine liked him and respected him. It's like God reaches down, taps you on the shoulder and says "keep on doing what you doing buddy" . JP , I hope you have your buddy Phil rite beside you in the joyous place. ❤❤❤❤

Another "older folk" here who loves both Kurt and John. How old? Had the good fortune to see John at VT in 80 or 81. Grateful for younger musicians like Kurt who produce excellent music of their own yet appreciate the talents of those who came before

2ndMounier You don’t know what you are talking about!!!!! You really don’t know Kurt Vile or his music that well if you think all he does is ripe off John Prine. I have seen him like now 27 times and as he has hints of John Prines music within some of his songs yet so different!!!! Also Kurt has one of the most unique voices and his guitar is often easily recognizable as just Kurt Vile especially his solos on songs like Goldtone, Puppet to The Man, KV Crimes, Dust Bunnies, Jesus Fever, Freak Train, Wakin on a Pretty Day, Pretty Pimpin and so many others. You just were not listing if you thought that or something. If you listen him more you will see that you were just not paying attention to his set. John Prine is a influence to Kurt Vile but yet Kurt is so unique and different as well.

If you do not like him I'd appreciate if you could just ignore it and let us enjoy what we do, and in return I'll gladly do the same thing for things you like that I don't. If you think he has potential but needs more time you are free to leave him alone for now and check in in a few years, but there are more positive ways to say that.
