How lucky would one man (or woman) get to sit down at a kitchen table and listen to John Prine sing them a song? Very!

I am 84 years old (1939) and live in the Netherlands. Been following USA country and pop music since 1950 and I still do. First heard of John Prine upon his passing on April 7 , 2020. From then on I follow everything fom him. Never heard of him before then. What a fantastic musican! Thanks for those old beautiful recordings in the kitchen. Beautiful again but it also shows the transience of life.

He has a unique way of handing you your heart and then somehow coming up with a hopeful ending. I heard a 30 something rap musician reviewing his music for the first time. He listened to Hello in There. At first he was over commenting because it's so different from what he's used to. Then he started paying attention. When he got to the line "We lost Davey in the Korean War", he just said "woah, this is heavy" and let's it play. Exactly. I'm 66 and one of my friends used to play few of his songs in college. Our group were all geologists from Missouri in the central the US. Kentucky is the next state over and Paradise clicked with us. But I never listened to any of his other music until after he died and I saw how upset people were. Now I try to listen to every new song I can at least once. I swear I grow with every song. That's nice when you get older. Something new to make you laugh or cry.

Saw John Prince for the first time in 1980 and have loved him ever since. Saw him for the last time in Phoenix in 2012. Stood out side and waited to get an autograph for over an hour. Worth every minute. He was generous with his time and talked with us for a long time. A night I will forever treasure !! 😊🌠

All these clips coming out now are just fantastic. They just reaffirm what a great and interesting person as well as songwriter/singer John Prine was...something I picked up right away all the way back to the early 70's when I first discovered him when our local FM station starting playing Illegal Smile. His songs have been a part of my life ever since.
