In 50 years (or probably a lot sooner, like right now) most people will have no idea who Ralph Emery was (or care) but Prine will still be a legend !

Ralph Emery was a good old boy. The status quo of what’s wrong with America. If you’re not with us you’re against us. John Prine on the other hand includes everybody and is respectful, he will be remembered long after Ralph and his puppet what’s his name.

Someone should write a protest song about how much of a twit Ralph Emery was.

I've been crediting Ralph Emery for years with introducing so many country singers - Randy Travis and Alan Jackson, for instance. However, this interview was so mean-spirited. This was probably the first time I heard John Prine. I loved Grandpa was a Carpenter, especially because my Dad was one, too. What a legend we have lost.

Mean spirited for sure John handled himself so well. Ralph was awful. So glad to read these comments they made me feel better. How could anybody treat John that way?

Great example of Emery being the ass that he was. Another great fail of his, he once asked Tony Rice what a flat picker was. Tony responded (as well as I can remember) "Well, this is a pick. It's flat."" I laughed so hard. My two favorite musicians right there!

Ralph Emery seems pretty hostile to John Prine. He has most likely not done research at all. What a shame.

Imo, Ralph had too much of that "Nashville Power" if it wasn't the typical Nashville Sound he snubbed it😝

Typical Ralph Emery interview. He was terrible. He thought his questions were more important than the answers.

This interviewer is stuck on protest songs. He was trying to pigeonhole John Prine as a protest singer. Not sure why.

The interviewer has the charm and vivacity of a potato. He lacks all that John Prine possesses. It's rather telling that I've no idea who the interviewer is, but I definitely know who his guest is.
