Shorting is terrible advice for most people, vs just buying gold and silver and sitting on it. The whipsaws and the psychology of shorting will kill those positions and leave people poorer, particularly in a hyperinflationary situation, which would bankrupt shorters. "Venezuela stock prices were up by 254% in annual terms at the end of 2022, following the 344% annual variation at the end of the prior year."

John suggests buying gold gradually and riding it down before it spikes, but I will do better buying into precious metals after they've already dropped. This means selling my gold at a healthy gain this year and holding on to that cash anticipating the bust in 2025,.

Giving unqualified financial advice for people to short stocks is just wrong. Shorting is so dangerous for the average punter. You may be right in the long run but in the short to medium term you can be blown away.

The problem with shorts is that you need a counter party that went long. If it gets as bad as it could very well go, those shorts may become severely discounted, if not worthless. I'll stick with some cash, but mostly sit on shiny.

And I imagine a lot of the people that dislike open pit mining operations are the same people that are insistent on all of this solar power and green energy, EVs, etc. Well it’s gonna be awfully tough to have both, folks. And the nations defense contracts are sucking up a lot of it, too. Here’s a hint: people in west Africa welcome the mining operations. It brings about new jobs and boosts economy for them, they’re happy to have it. Great interview. Facts whether they’re ugly or not. Thanks for the video, and your time.

John said we are at 1.6 trillion in interest costs. My understanding is that it is 1 trillion every 100 days. On an annualized basis that is 3.5 trillion per anum.
