My father never physically abandoned me, but he never wanted to be a part of our family for as long as I can remember. He always used work as an excuse to skip birthdays, family gatherings, etc. As a result, I never really had a father figure in my life to lean on or guide me. Only 2 years ago did I discover that kind of relationship with my acting coach. He's very much the Silver to my Jim. As a kid, this was my favorite movie. But now, as an adult I see this and cry from how much he's taught me.

the last memory I had with my dad was when he was fixing a car. he told me to stay and help I got bored and saw a mango tree so I climbed up to get 2 mangos. Then I hear my dad screaming my name I run up to him and said "hey I got man-" when I get their he slaps my face so hard that I fell unconscious. I wake up and my parents are screaming at each other. My dad leaves and my moms on the ground crying. He left because he wasn't happy with us. Last time I saw him....

This movie, while it won many awards, is still so very underrated. I love this movie, and it's probably my favorite Disney movie, alongside Atlantis and Hercules. But since it's not centered around princesses or involving some great musical score every two minutes, nobody pays attention to it - the same as with Atlantis. People complain about wanting more animated films about adventures and excitement and dealing with real problems and people but they overlook Atlantis and Treasure Planet and it's so sad.

Well I honestly didn’t fall him so much at first cause when I was younger I just wanted him to be happy and to be someone who became strong like him through all the pain I saw him go through, and wanted to be his friend and find someone like that in real life. I guess the scene made me think of the idea of abandonment to accept that sometimes you won’t know the answer until you do, or never. That feeling of loss before you could begin to understand why you need to remember but also forget and not let that bother you because you can still live on afterwards. That’s what I contemplated so many times when I saw this scene when I was younger and I even felt that pang of anger and confusion as to why from the movie Swan Princess when the parents said “This is my idea” making me angry as to the parents thinking this was a good thing making me feel that they were selfish. Now I see the similarities for the idea that people may have their own reasons or things just happen as they have happened. Whether or not you meant for it to cause pain and misunderstanding.

I still can't believe this film didn't do well... it deserved to do well! And the music is one of the pure reasons it should have been one of the best Disney films out there. Johnny should be mega proud of the song! I would! By far one of the best movies, so underrated but so beautifully done.
