The sand and rocks are quite the workout.

This is an older vid so you probably know this by now but... that stove has a self igniter, you can see it on the side. No need for that 10ft lighter. You can pull the arms out to have a wider cooking surface too. Suggestion to all hikers and campers- always test your gear before you go!

That is easy hike and how long hike to beach from parking lot? I am going to visit there next week I will be alone...

From the trailhead its roughly 2 miles to get to the beach. It's another 2 down the beach to reach the point of the arches. Should be perfectly safe for anyone hiking it alone.

No one seems to know if its possible to hike from La Push to Shi Shi. Trail seems to end in the res.

It's been done. Very difficult and dangerous in many places and requires technical gear.

I have done the this hike both ways not at the same time but in the 70s and 80s. The only thing I made sure to have is a tide book. You have to go around the deadlands with low tide or get ready to climb. You plan your days according to the tides because you have to cross the Ozette River . 5-7 days

+Towey Media Does this require the use of tide charts and timing it right so the beach is passable at specific tide levels?
@Toweyirishman8 жыл бұрын
tide charts are strongly recommended to reach the far end of the beach to see the point of the arches, fortunately the entire beach is walkable all the way to avout 80% of high tide. don't forget a wilderness and tribal pass are needed if staying the night over on the beach.

It varies from year to year (and season to season) but there is a creek in the middle of the beach that needs to be crossed and lower tides give you better choices. Otherwise there is no tidal restriction to accessing all the way to The Point Of Arches. There is a good amount of beach that is accessible beyond the arches but only at low tide and it must be timed correctly or you can be trapped.

To clarify, the tribal pass is needed to walk through the reservation to the National Park, not to stay overnight. John, do you know when they started with the tribal passes?
