Thank you for posting this, I remember buying VHS tape on ebay of this, in case I needed it!! But, I read the book, and a month later --all pain gone!! Sometimes I have to revisit his book and the 12 reminders. He changed my life. I will forever be thankful and try to share this with people. I’m ecstatic to have found this video. I was a patient of Dr. Sarno over 20 years ago. I went to his seminar, purchased this when it was in VHS format and still continue to reread his books anytime something plagues me. I call The Mindbody Prescription my medical bible. I bless Dr. Sarno everyday for helping me. I only wish more medical professionals would continue his work.

Wow, that's so cool! So you actually met Sarno? When you went to his seminar did he give you a study guide? Everyone always asks about this mythical study guide.
@donnaduca91526 ай бұрын
It was a day long project. I went to his office in NYU hospital. He first physically examined me and then I sat in his office and we talked for over an hour. Later that day I came back and went to his seminar. It was actually funny to watch him throw people out. He wasn’t there to convince anyone of his theory only to further educate. I believe we all have the power to create and cure any disease. Dr. Sarno has been a blessing to me.

Basically. It reminds you that upon the first sign of any pain to remember it’s not physical it’s in your brain. And the simplest thing but hardest to implement. Forget about it. The more you do to try to alleviate pain- medication, therapies of any kind or even resting are all counterintuitive. Forget about whatever it is and go about your life. Hope this helps!

I discovered Dr Sarno years ago and after many years if lower back, upper back, neck and even shoulder chronic pain. I learnt and applied Dr Sarnos principles, and now live completely pain free. I was given all the same diagnosis from doctors. But i can tell you with doing the work Sarno shares, changing my beliefs, dealing with inner pain and letting go of self judgements and perfectionism. My pain slowly lifted. And i can assure you my psin was terrible. I couldnt sleep it was so bad. But with counselling, self love and building my own self respect and belief it was a mental condition, it passed. So if i can, no matter how bad yours is, you can too. Doctors are educated to attend to the cause, not the symptom. Thats your job. You can do it. But get his books, get a TMS skilled counsellor and free yourself from pain. And mine comes back now and then, but i have the tools now to turn it off and live my life, and you all can too! 😊

I saw John Stossel's 20/20 interview with Dr. Sarno on his show one day. I had just been to the San Antonio Spurs orthopedics team, and went back to Alaska to work. I had been diagnosed with a torn rotator cuff in my right shoulder, severe arthritis in my left, and L4 and L5 was bone on bone and sciatica was terrible. I was given celebrex, which has a side effect of death. So the next morning I had put the celebrex in a daily organizer. I had a very high stress job, and in the morning I was talking to one of my people up in Prudhoe Bay on the phone, dealing with a problem on the computer and had an engineer at my desk asking for help and orders. During all this I picked up the prescription bottle and took a celebrex pill for my escalating pain. When things calmed down for a moment, I looked at the pill organizer to make sure I didn't take two and I had! At that moment, the pain ramped up so intense that I couldn't move, much less get out of my chair. That's when I said out loud to my brain, "Busted!" Because taking too much pain med would not cause MORE intense pain immediately! All the pain instantly was gone. This was about 12 years ago, and I have read all Dr. Sarno's books, etc. It has never come back. If any pain starts, I can mentally stop it. Thank God for Dr. Sarno. I never had surgery, don't need painkillers.

I watched the whole video and I understood who it is addressed to. The personal traits that Sarno listed are typical of most people. People want to be accepted by others, they don't want confrontation and they willingly sacrifice themselves in order to continue to maintain tranquility. In fact, we have seen in 2020 and beyond how many got the needlecraft in order to save the grannies and to be able to return to normality. Sarno is right to say that this attitude is connected to anger because in fact today more than ever people have episodes of sudden anger. I have a different type of personality, I'm not saying I don't have repressed anger but I have more problems typical of people who are not afraid tell the truth

Dr. Sarno stated that if the certain part of the body that is in pain was the source, then it would hurt all the time. Well, I have pain 24/7 for 2 years, no diagnosis. 6 doctors, 6 CT scans 3-4 ultrasound, 2 x rays, 1 MRI. Started in my right flank. Now also to the front right ab, next to bellybutton. Then right rib along the back. Now left flank and back along the waist. My skin on my arms and legs feels weird when I press. Slight tingling on and off. Emotionally zapped! Exhausted! I absolutely believe this all started with trauma in 2013 and more to follow for the next decade. Peace to all suffering. 🙏

@@Mrs.C-6721 okay now I understand. If you permit me to venture a statement - you’ll absolutely heal. While I am no Dr Sarno - I know about his method and I try it all the time. But I have a slightly different thought process as well. You’ll heal not just because as you deal with your (supposedly repressed) emotions (if any) - that may be at the root of the pain - that effort itself will trigger the healing process instantly; however, I also believe that we are made out of “nothing” (the whole universe indeed is) and hence we are foremost “nothjng”. If you go back to the primal, pristine nothingness there’s no pain anywhere because pain needs a substrate to act on. Knowing that we are energy ourselves - it becomes an exercise in managing our energies and emotions to let them do the healing. All pain is a manifestation of something amiss in the nervous pathways. That’s what Dr Sarno also said and a few others like Gurdjieff (who had a similar teaching) have said. So good luck with your healing and hopefully very soon I’ll see you come back here and say that you’ve conquered your pain and are free from it 🙏😊

Thanks for uploading ! I have for the most part cured my back pain thanks to Dr. Sarno's work. I have been putting my arms and elbows through a lot recently, extreme overuse in terms of repetitive moments, heavy lifting etc. Any advice if elbow pain, tendonitis is more likely TMS or actual physical injuries ?
@gustavtms10 ай бұрын
Sarno would always examine people to make sure there's no physical injury before they proceeded with his program. Of course there are some physicians out there who will assume that any pain must be physical problem, so we have to be careful on that front. So there are TMS physicians out there who can be seen in person or online. TMSwiki.org has a directory of them on the site and may provide the answer you're after.
@irishroverandthecrew10 ай бұрын
@@gustavtms Thanks mate. Yes, that's why I'm weary of going to regular GP, if I complain about the pain - chances are I'll be told that it must be physical causes, that being said they were wrong about my spine so they could easily be wrong about my elbows now as well. I'll see to post on TMSwiki. At one point in the lecture Dr. Sarno does say however that MOST tendonitis is TMS, that gives me hope plus fact I know I had TMS with my spine and cured it as TMS. I'd like to treat it same way as did the spine but I worry if the cause is physical that then I could further injure my tendons, it's the only reason why I'm currently resting my arm, giving it more time before coming to conclusions or seeing anyone.

I am always amazed at people who get better after hearing his lecture in reading his books. The people who are treating TMS in the mind body world, say that’s very rare. But I read these comments and I see it’s not so rare at all.

Dr. Sarnos, five years ago I had my fourth and final back surgery. I had a TLFF done. I was doing well but I fell on my driveway and snapped one of the titanium off in my hip. Since I have been in chronic pain and using opioid medicine to deal with this pain. Dr, do you believe that your methods can help me?

Great video dude Been jumping in and out of TMS space for a while no improvement yet. I just need to commit
@TheCorporateGardener Жыл бұрын
Yes! You have to commit. I could only accept once I had ruled out other options. Maybe you are still holding on to a few other 'normal' diagnosis paths and you can finish those out, see if they are dead ends, and come back to Dr. Sarno if that's what you need to give it your full focus. Put the time in to put your health first! I know our health system doesn't make it easy

Sarno gives the layout of his study guide is his book The Divided Mind. It's not like a workbook or anything but the directions that he used to give people.

I have a plethora of these aches and pains. Am I angry. Do I know about rage? Absolutely. In my case, it is all but unconscious. On the contrary it is almost always at the surface and I have a tough time trying to shut it up. I am totally aware of my rage and the extent of it. So where do I stand?
@Ruth-rs1rj5 ай бұрын
Maybe as he has said somewhere: start writing down things 20’ morning and evenings. Write 3 columns. One about childhood difficulties One about present difficulties One about personality traits that may contribute to your pain. Keep doing this. It’s called journal speaking. The writing acts as a pressure cooker release.

Can anyone tell me where I can find the study guide? Thanks for uploading this video! It’s life changing!
@gustavtms2 ай бұрын
Hi, I'm not sure it's publicly available anymore. Someone commented that they actually attended one of Sarno's lectures, got a study guide, and that the information in the guide is basically the same information in his books, which makes sense because his books themselves are essentially study guides. In his book The Divided Mind he outlines his treatment program but that information is basically in his other books as well.

Interstitial cystitis, burning, pelvic floor muscle tension so many women in the last 20 years plus being diagnosed with this I find it used to be people in the mid-30s when I got it now it’s people in their 20s. I got mine back when there was no KZbin,After running out of money because the only effective physical therapist I work with wouldn’t take my insurance, I also had fibromyalgia so I had trigger point therapy three times a week for $130 a pop, long story short I got off the Internet I stopped researching I stopped all treatment. I made a life change left my partner. Who knows maybe it’s a combo of things but I got better I’d say 50% within a month,And then it was little by little until now I’m left with muscle tension but no pain but the muscle tension is nothing like it was before I don’t really feel it most of the time I get flareups occasionally I don’t pay much attention to them they go away.

Has anyone had hypersensitive nerve pain ? Is it tms? Even if it’s caused by actual inflammation?
@sandtx49133 ай бұрын
Only you can truly know what type of pain you have and what is causing it. And to find that out you have to reconnect with your body/system, your senses, your intuition, your higher self, all of it. Getting out of your mind and in to your body. By practicing yoga, meditation, journaling, breathwork, singing/chanting, slowing down, connect with nature, be still and observe. Rediscover the world and yourself, like a child, without mental interference.

Hi. Sarno kind of gives an outline of his study guide/program in his book The Divided Mind. But really all his books are study guides. The literal guide that he presumably gave out to people who saw him or attended his lectures, I'd love to have a copy of that but I don't know who has it.

Many people have resolved TMJ pain with this approach. But as Sarno always said, structural causes have to be ruled out first.
