John Schneider, Sings The National Anthem
This was the 1984 show, if my memory serves me correctly, because Ronald Reagan sent a letter to Alan Osmond, thanking him for his salute to American and putting on the largest fireworks show in the country. It was read by Orin Hatch from the stage. This was my 3rd fireworks show with Alan. One of the highlights to me for this show was having John Schneider fly in to Utah just to perform the National Anthem. I had gotten the arrangements made to pick him up at the airport. So, I went with the Limousine driver to SLC International to pick up John. I rode in the back of the Limo with him. Amazingly he was so down to earth it was like he and I had been friends for ever. Easy to talk with and joke around. I have to tell you as a Duke’s of Hazard fan, I knew he was an actor of some fame, but had no idea how well he could sing. Listen to this and you will be blown away of his rendition of the anthem. He came in the same day as the show so he really didn’t get to rehearse too much before his performance. See if you are impressed as much as I was.
