That's how one utilizes riffs and runs excellently. They were filled with so much musicality, that one can easily forget that it's solely her voice. Her voice is truly exceptional. Honestly, this is right up there with Whitney's and it is completely live and acapella. (It's a smaller event so it may not be as popular) but vocally and emotively, it is excellent.

I remember seeing her live in Orlando and tickets were only $20, and it made me sad. She should be a top paid female vocalist and I hate that her immense talent doesn’t get the kind of recognition it should.

She walked away from a record deal with Jay Z's label in her early 20s. Something about not wanting to play the game the way the music industry wanted I think. That was about 2007 - I first heard her around 2009 and spent years waiting for her to finally get her dues. Heaux Tales was great & had modest acclaim from those who actually head it (not nearly enough people), but was probably hampered by timing with COVID. Hopefully with her next album she'll finally break out in a big way.
