We rescued guys that changed theirmind about invading and killing little stoneage peasants o the other side of the world.. We laughed at the self-important, whether they be cops or crook/presidents. Too few DO, for my taste. The world is larger than web spooks or urbanites believe. There are blizzards and mountains to solo climb, waves and wind and seas, others so large that humans are insignificant, tiny beyond what you may believe.

Remember John at the Canned Heat in Hyde Park, London, concert on 12th September 1970. After an extremely rainy morning, he sang "Here Comes The Sun" when the sun came out & the rest was just wonderful with The Bear (Bob Hite) jumping on the stage that was flexing with his moves. One of the best concerts I have ever seen and a wonderful memory that will live with me until the end of my life which is not so far away given that I am now 70.

And for the few imitators who might say they can do an amazing cover (and yes I do envy you), let’s not forget he invented the song and the performance....and a few others. Thanks for posting this video by the way.

John Sebastian was without question one of the best singer/songwriters of the era - an era with an unusually large number of quality artists. The best Spoonful stacks up quite well next to anything contemporary, even by the fabs. This is a great performance, vocally especially. He didn't have much success after Spoonful, but not many 60's acts survived long into the 70's. If you like this and Spoonful, give NRBQ a try. They're kinda in the same ballpark. The Peek-a-boo best-of is a great place to start...

@@JimAndDeePatton I know he had this style since 1965 or earlier, and Lennon started appearing with the round glasses in late '66. I don't think that's a case of one copying another. It's just the style of those days, aswell as the hair, the glasses or the beard. These looks and John Lennon's is just a coincidence, altought I and our fellow friends could say they're similar.
