John Sebastian - one of the under-rated greats. Some wonderful songs both solo and with the Lovin' Spoonful. Thanks for all the memorable tunes and associated memories John.

This guy is a genius. I've always liked his music and smooth voice. My favorite album after all these years is "Cheapo Cheapo Productions presents the real John Sebastian".

I met John after a show once, and as he was signing my Cheapo Cheapo Presents... LP, and I asked him if needed the silver pen I brought (because most of the album cover is dark), he said "no, I know right where to sign..." - right up the pant-leg, we laughed and my response was, "hey John, do you still have those pants?" He said, "no, man...funny story about those pants - they were stolen from a laundromat in Greenwich Village. I loved those pants!" Hahaha - true story! Super nice guy.

You don`t have to be a hippie to enjoy his music, my brother certainly isn`t a hippie and he loves John Sebastian. Being a hippie is irrelevant, just like the fact that you don`t have to be rich and old to appreciate classical music, or black to appreciate rap. Also, if you wish to represent your genre preferences in a favourable manner, I would suggest you tone yourself down. I try to respect the different genres, but when their fans act poorly, it reflects poorly on the genre.

@d4v1d5hu13r chill out man, did i say you or everybody should like his music? (and not only hippies like folk) "not more famous" could be as a perforer, a composer, a lirirycist, a back-up musicien, anything, wether we like his style or not you have to admit he's a good musicien and open your mind, maybe with a different arangement you would even like this song. just chill out man, i mean, what the hell is that capitalised word's agresivity?
