The Sheffield Legend that is John Shuttleworth performing "Smells Like White Spirit".
If it sounds like a song from Nirvana, that's pure co-incidence, John wrote this in his shed, and says he'd never heard their song before.

Nobody rushes to clean out their brushes When they've been using an oil-based paint But it's essential-don't be mental! Clean out your brushes without complaint. First, wipe off excess paint with newspaper then soak in white spirit- don't leave it til later! Immerse to the roots of the bristles, you gotta Then finally rinse through in soapy hot water. You can relax now, you have done it! Though your whole house smells like white spirit Smells like white spirit, smells like white spirit, oh that's luvely! Smells like white spirit.

Oil based paints are for the professional Iam inpatient so I just use a quick dry I don't use a brush because I'm so Lazy ,I just use a roller and bin it maybe.

Is Mr Shuttleworth one of them that there White Spirit Supremacists? I think we should be told. I’m all for resinous exudate enthusiasts (I’m partial to a cold one on the odd occasion), but I draw the line with an HB pencil and ruler if push comes to shove ha’penny. As it happens I used to love drawing pictures of a certain gentleman called Dorian. Unfortunately, I find it a lot more difficult these days, since I’m not as old as I used to be. Never mind, eh?
