I’d imagine he may be pressed for time however, this was a GREAT interview. Hate that had to be so brief-we DON’T need validation from anyone but it is always refreshing to see/hear the support from other ethnicities. Because as we know, often than not they’re the gatekeepers to certain platforms & hearing his SUPPORT & perspective on black EXCELLENCE is sublime 💪🏽👍

I'm so glad that what I've felt for years is being expressed by the man in charge!! There was never any doubt the 60's Motown artists and people like Aretha Franklin HAD to be included from the start, and hip hop has always been rock based on how it spoke to younger generations, changed music, high creativity, etc. Love It!

so for years woman in rock were not getting in so NOW Its about being inclusive. Get them in so to Rollingstone its about adding women now. also adding more blacks now and why is this country thing happening? I suppose its about diversity. maybe all Halls should do this. dont add the white baseball players with the 3000 hits in. lets add in the latin players and more black players stats dont matter anymore only lets do diversity. so Missy Elliot gets in and does Chris Cornell's Band Soundgarden get in? NO and thats laughable. ok he Cornell might have the best voice in Rock and their influence and hits puts them in. hate to say this but if he is black he is in! AND Why has it come to that? well there is enough white bands in we dont need Foreigner or Bad Company or Jethro Tull or Soundgarden or Iron Maiden lets get Missy Elliot in. And Cyndy Lauper isnt really deserving but if she was black she'd be in. how about honoring the ART. Put in the best? NOPE ITS no longer about the art. The Oscars few years ago said there is now a criteria and your movie better check those boxes of diversity in order to get best picture. Immediately Kirstie Alley called them out and said well its NO LONGER ABOUT THE ART IS IT? and the Rock hall is NOW ALL about being inclusive and diverse now. so these other bands dont check boxes and arent getting in.

Oh, and Chris' mother was Jewish. Wow, guitarist was Indian, old bassist was Japanese, and Seattle Rock God Chris Cornell was half Jewish. Uh oh, better call Fox News. You do know that they get nominated and the public votes for who gets in so either they didn’t get nominated because of the academy or they didn’t have the qualifications or they did get nominated but they just didn’t get enough votes
