The Durston lamp looks wonderful for very close work, and it’s great that it has powerful lighting as well as the variable magnification.

Honestly, this is the best lamp of its kind that I've encountered. It's really well made. It's easy to switch between the magnifications. And, the variable lighting is great. Best of all, it hardly costs anything to operate it. I highly recommend it. : )

I love your videos and have relied on a lot of your older videos when starting out. My comment isn’t about jewellery though. I just saw a more recent video and saw your new “ pandemic” look and I think your new look is great. Especially later on when your beard had grown in. You look fab!

Do I have to be that close to the item tho, to see the item? I would have to lean down and break my already horrible back. I use mine I already have, which is cheep and terrible, for soldering too. But it’s not facing the soldering over it, flat, it’s more up and down, rather than flat. I don’t want to have to get 4 inches away fro my flame. Thanks!! I used to be huskyluffy. Google changed my user name without my choosing, I don’t know how to change it to what I want!

Good to hear from you again Huskyluffy. I generally don't use the magnification lamp for soldering. I either wear safety glasses equipped with bifocals or an optivisor. You do have to get a little too close to the flame with the magnification for me to be comfortable. But, the lamp works just great for a wide variety of options.😀
