John was a law school classmate. I play a mini harmonica with no hands, and he and I played a duet at a law school dance in 1963. A pinnacle in my musical career. This was a bit before those incredible plaid jackets.

John was a class act! Thank you for posting this! Many Manualists are out there now including Bruce Gaston and Jim Rotondo who I played along with when we were a trio called "The Three Tendons". Our video of our appearance on the Tonight Show in 2001 is up here. I had my great moment as a Handwhistler when I was a guest on the Tonight Show back in 1979 which is also up here. Thank you for posting this! John is a wonderful showman and performer.

I'm SO surprised to find this! His daughter and niece were college roommates of mine, and they were just as fun. ("everybody fell out -?" Didn't realize the expression was this old!) Look at that Bobby Sherman/Glen Campbell hair.

+thebrockification Alas, we had no such entertainment around the apartment! Anecdotes . . . Well, his daughter's boyfriend was the great-great-grandson of a famous Old West gambler/lawman - I don't think she was crazy about potentially having a last name that sounded like a belch - and his niece looked >very< much like the girl (Julie Bell; short, curly brown hair) in the Bonne Bell ads of the time. [I do have "good" stories - we were in college! - but they're best left non-public. ; ) ]

Dammit!, I've viewed this video dozens of times, but how is it that I find the need to immediately go to the grocery store, buy Comet Cleanser, then store it in the garage never to be seen again! (Ajax: STRONGER THAN DIRT!!)
