I am Frank Hill’s great grand daughter. Sadly my great grandpa passed away from complications following surgery for a stomach aneurysm in 2001, 5 years before I was born. My mom sometimes tells me all the cool stories about him. How he knew how to fly a plane and owned one. Also of course, his jewelry business! Fun fact: we still own his property where my family now hunts on. I also have some of the quail jewelry and pamphlets he made about his hunting reserve and jewelry business. I love that plot of land where he used to hunt, fish, and live. Although it is more worn down, my family still does a lot to keep it in good shape. I wish I had a chance to meet him, but I’m glad that I can watch this tv interview over and over again to see what everyone remembered him as.

My grandfather spoke very similar to Frank. When I was little, I couldn't understand him. I would have to look to my dad for "translation." But don't let those accents fool you. My grandfather was most intelligent man I ever knew. He was a mechanical engineer and held several patents. And he was a US Marine in the Pacific and fought in two campaigns - Peleliu and Okinawa. He never talked about that, though.

Hill’s genuinely funny 1982 Tonight Show appearance and offered him brief parts in 1983's "Stroker Ace" and 1984's "Cannonball Run II" [Hill's scene was deleted in Cannonball but Reynolds "kept in the movie a panel truck that advertised Hill and his jewelry"].
