@@benjaminfinley9314 thank you benjamin. I was kind of thinking about the creative energy. I'm very much a process kind of person and I really enjoy how people think when they're beginning an endeavor that becomes iconic. Your suggestions as influences for John Williams is well taken. I actually had some vinyl records John Williams said had been influential. A lot of triumphant horns and orchestrations using those horns. It sounded like Star Wars almost seamlessly.

Near ditto. I had purchased other TV show or filmscore albums prior, but the Star Wars score (at age 13) opened my ears to motifs and character themes -- devices that I used in composing for films 20 years later.

Infinitely agree. He is by far the greatest orchestral composer for film of all time. His ability to capture the essence of a melody, harmony and overall feeling of a piece for a film or subject is just unreal. So powerful, so beautiful and infinitely iconic for all his themes. My favourites have to be Superman, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Jaws, E.T. and Close Encounters of the Third Kind. There will never ever EVER be a composer who will be able to match the timeless incredible masterpieces and talent of that man. ❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥

The emotion of the score for Schindler's List is so immense (not sure if it had been mentioned in these comments). As the story goes, Steven Spielberg screened the movie for Williams , to compose the score. Williams had to compose *himself, and told Spielberg, "You need a better composer than I am for this film." Spielberg responded, "I know. But they're all dead."
