43:32 "If Christ was worth coming to at all, then he was worth going all the way with." 49:55 "I realized I had given myself over, not to God, but to things that were *like* God and *for* God, and I had in the process made the institution and my ministry God, and *He* was no longer God at all." I had the privilege of hearing John Wimber preach when he came to Vineyad church in Columbus Ohio..I remember him saying that he is just a fat guy trying to get to heaven… love his humor 😊

After I got born again in 1999 the Lord led me to the Vineyard Church in Sugarland, Tx I wish I had met John Wimber but hearing this and other video's has been a true blessing...I can't wait to meet him in heaven and thank him for his tenacity and obedience!

Lord THANK YOU for leading me to hear John's message on this day (4/23/2020), even though I'm watching this 35 years later. Bless you Lord and please Bless Rich R. of my BSF (Bible Study Fellowship International) study group for leading me to this God Blessed presentation. Please Bless John and his memory and all that he has done and everyone and everything his word impacts forever. Yours In Christ. Tom

Every baby step I've taken in hearing and following my dear Christ in faith was very hard, just as he described. Pastor John never made people feel intimidated that he's the GREATEST MAN OF FAITH, nor would he require that you stand in line for an hour to be healed. He had humility and a funny bone, and he was no slouch in his disciplines.

Without a doubt, Tom Wimber is the most spiritually gifted man I have ever met. And one of the most amazing communicators I’ve ever heard. The world is a better place because of him I have a revelation of a gift of the spirit that he taught all across the world for many years to both evangelicals and charismatics. It was a great privilege to be a Vineyard Pastor for a while under his leadership.

Trying to understand why Scott decided to break from Vineyard. Can't imagine why and seems like nobody's taking about it.

@@rcstan75In one of other John Wimbers messages, he likened the Anaheim vineyard like a female dog that constantly births litters and litters until she can't birth anymore and passes away. He knew it wasn't always going to be this way so it isn't surprising it happened. The big issue here wasnt so much that they left, it's how they left. They gave nobody any heads up before making the decision: it was horribly communicated and took everyone by surprise.

As crazy as this sounds, there was something that recently transpired in both my life and another leader of our fellowship's life, regarding John, when we were spending some time together in prayer. Afterwards, I sensed the Lord say, "Call Carol". And again, "Call Carol", as I was pondering what had happened. I reached out to a Vineyard Leader I knew, who heard what I had to say, yet didn't have Carol's #. I know she's busy, yet simply want to obey the Lord. Leaving this message here in the hopes someone can let her know of this. Thanks.

The Toronto Blessing has a wild reputation but the fruit that came from the people who were there was undeniable. My church was wrecked in the best possibly way after my pastor decided to check it out after he heard the strange reports. The power of God came upon our church mightily and never left 20+ years later. So many incredibly ministries were birthed from it including my school, Global Awakening, which was founded by Dr. Randy Clark, one of the main ministry at Toronto during the event. Randy is not a wild or hype-enotional guy, himself.

vision used to explain problem is not i in God's end doesn't really explain anything. Rarely anyone who is sick will reject a healing. Btw according to John himself, he got 15% healing rate for those who come to him for healing prayer. which actually explain that it's the problem of God. everybody wants healing especially those who go to seek for healing. and "God" blame those who reject his mercy? That's so wrong in Theology and even not really true in facts.
@ucarouen4 жыл бұрын
I've been to meetings where hundreds have been healed, including an unbelieving girlfriend I had brought with me to the meeting. Look up Global Awakening and it's founder Dr. Randy Clark. Wimber taught him and today he has seen far more healings and creative miracles than Wimber did. We go from glory to glory.
@ucarouen9 ай бұрын
I responded to this three years ago and came back to say I've seen God do more healings since I first responded, including seeing blind eyes opened for the first time. Two important keys to understanding how to receive healing (but not the only ones) are in James 1:5-8, which directly refers to the words of Jesus in Mark 11:20-25 about not doubting is the key to see the miracle you ask Him for, and also to forgive any who have wronged you. Holding unforgiveness is a big healing blocker.

Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching. For the Scripture says, "You shall not muzzle an ox when it treads out the grain," and, "The laborer deserves his wages." 1 Timothy 5:17-18 ESV
