The lady in these videos who got healed out of a wheelchair prayed for me at a Wimber conference back in 1985. She was genuine and I was healed.

This teacher or modern day prophet of light was so insightful by the presence of G-d who was able to heal many by flowing in the mighty Spirit or Paracletos...many miss him but his legacy Vineyard movement continues to grow evidently and expodentially.

I watch the entire series at least once a year since I found it. John Wimber is the one person I've ever met and or listened to who says the truth all the way through his journey. God bless you for sharing this and all who watch it that they me touched from the inside out seeking this kind of relationship with God, a relationship that walks by faith doing what we've all been called to do by Jesus.

Hi Stenna, I am not sure what you mean by "put them back." You should be able to download the videos from KZbin. There are several ways to do this, some include installing software/apps to your computer and some are just web-based so you don't have to install software. catch.tube worked great for me the other day when I saved some banned videos.

Questions: (1) If the evidence for a healing was undeniable, would you still deny it? (2) If the evidence for a man's healing was non-existent, would you still proclaim him healed? Both sides have extreme positions. One side would vote you out of the church if you were blind and regained your sight. The other side would declare you healed if you couldn't see your hand in front of your face. Common sense isn't ungodly. It's desperately needed in both camps.

If dealing with pressure in the eye which is glaucoma just by praying for it, I personally should be free of it 100 times over. No proof offered at all as you have to have special instruments to check eye pressure and the expertise to understand the readings.

Wimber was the most self-effacing guy anyone ever met. The ceasationist strawman representations of him we see in the comments below, were common in his sighs and wonders class at Fuller in the early 1980s but that was entering the class not exiting. I have cold-read (as skeptics call it) first and last names of people's relatives, long lost friends, relationship breaks from childhood, names of their boyfriends when their husband is only a few yards away. Let's just say I'm a good guesser. Rationality of atheists and ceasationists alike seems to be a function of turning up skepticism when one's beliefs are in danger of being proven false. Most just say, "I don't have sufficient data, but I'm open to getting data!" But skeptics delete data and poison the wells to receiving same. Jesus rebuke many cities for this type of skepticism, and Thomas who had healed, cast out demons, and seen the dead raised, but wouldn't believe Jesus was raised.

Well said. And not only a rebuke, but Lord: set people free from this skepticism+doubt, so they can see the truth of who You are and that you've given us a spirit of love, power, and sound mind.

If John 'liked people to do weird thing' as he says here, why did he call it on the then 'Toronto Airport Vineyard Church' now 'Catch the fire' in 1995? Was it not to do with the 'weird things' that the 'Vineyard Churches' withdrew from Toronto at that time? The cynic in me may say this is simple guess-work? Why are prophetic words not more specific? Surely the Holy spirit can give more details to aid certainty? Forgive me, how do you know externally that the Holy Spirit is working on someone as it is put here, I always thought that He worked on the heart or spirit of the person? I'll tell you what all this is saying to me, it is expectation, not faith. The people are being hyped up to see something. Again this is not faith. Does this resemble stage hypnotism? I believe it does. Watch any healing ministry it follows this exact procedure. Interesting! "This is the kind of power that raised Jesus from the dead" Really? People getting conned! The lady who apparently got out of the wheelchair, where are the medical records and what happened to her since?

+Ulster 1690 haha, oh ye of little faith. Do you understand how the Kingdom works? Have you listened to the entire series? Scriptural support is given. Search the scriptures and notice how often disciples and prophets saw God moving and decided to cooperate with it. They learned to recognize what it looked like when God moves. I'm always amused when people look at how the Vineyard does things and say, "Hype!" They are anti-hype. Regarding Toronto, did you know the Vineyard leaders repented of their positions and asked forgiveness? They admitted they were wrong and moved to reconcile with those leaders? Wimber recognized he missed it before he passed away... who knows. Maybe denying the Holy Spirit's work led to his passing. It's fearful to call the work of God "stage hypnotism." Would you really believe the medical records? Someone stood up in front of hundreds and said "I was in a wheelchair for years and now I'm healed" and you say she lies? If a PDF of the medical records were produced, wouldn't you just say, "oh,well Satan healed her." Or, LIES! SHE WAS HYPNOTIZED. It's stunning to me when people attribute the power of God to satan. There are countless testimonies of healings - many "verified" by medical records. Let me ask you, why do you trust medical records? Why not trust the Bible? By the way, your quoting of God is not the author of confusion in relation to this teaching is woefully out of context. Seek the Kingdom of God and his righteousness and see if your objections don't fall away and God opens your eyes.

Doug Overmyer The bible also teaches us to test everything. Yes, I know that the bible is a supernatural book, I'm not disputing that, but that same bible tells us to watch out for those who will bring false teaching and false miracles. I appreciate much of what John Wimber had to say and write, but I wrote the above to illustrate some of the concerns I would have. I commented as the video progressed. I'm in the process of watching them all, and like I say, glad that the scriptures are quoted.

Lers Thisayakorn To be honest with you I had sympathies with wimber's teaching in the past and I have some books written by him. They came over as plausable. Then I started watching these videos which I have not yet finished, but what I wrote above was my oberservation on this video itself and it's contents. I am aware that John is no longer with us to defend himself, but this has led to some of the antics of Bentley and others since, only they have taken it to a new level. People say to me, people should only be challenged at a local level and not via the internet. My bible directs me otherwise when it comes to 'false teaching etc. There is no excuse for 'testing' now that we can see so much online for ourselves as near to first hand as possible. I personally hold no haterid for these people, I just have issues with what they teach. As a visually impaired person myself I've thought long and hard about the healing issue in general. Thank you for your response.

+Ulster 1690 John did say he liked when people did weird things. He also clarified that statement, by later saying it was not the act that he liked but what God was doing in the person. As for Toronto, John also says in this video to be careful not to "depart from the counsel of God." He said to remain firmly rooted in Scripture. You ask why the prophetic words are not more specific. I should ask you, are the prophetic words that you receive more clear than these? I believe God does one of two things. He gives detailed words but our own minds, beliefs, and preconceptions filter out what God really wants to say at times. Other times, details are absent to cause us to desire more and continually rely upon Him for the fulfillment. You may choose not to believe the wheelchair lady. You've never met her, that's fine. You have met me however, unless you think this account is a fake. I do not have my medical records readily available, nor that of my wife's, but I can attest to God's healing power because we have both experienced it. I had a chronic muscle strain that caused me to not be able to twist my back. My wife had a deviated septum due to a broken nose. We had both suffered these conditions for years but were healed at the same conference. The speaker at that conference said the the audience that someones deviated septum was just healed, just as my wife's experienced a pop in her sinus and her breathing was restored. How much evidence do you need? You say that those who follow this teaching lack faith. I believe you need to rethink your position and consider your own. Listen again to the second segment of this video.

+Lers Thisayakorn I'm not sure I understand how he is "playing God". Your evidence is that he is "teaching, empowering, and doing"...which are the very things we are charged to do as Christians. Claiming to be God would be problematic but he has quite clearly not done that. He very clearly and carefully points out time and time again that GOD is doing this, or that's GOD's power. All glory is given to God. He states this is God's ministry. He explains faith in God, not himself. What you are saying is that John has some inherent ability in himself to do this. Seems to me that is where the blasphemy lies. I however, am not prepared to make such a preposterous statement as you did because I know you do not believe John has any power in and of himself. instead what you have to believe, although you failed to state, is that he is doing these by demonic powers. That would seemingly have been a mistake on the part of Satan since the fruits of this teaching are clear in the bolstering of faith and deeper understanding of God's kingdom, His power, and His character.
