I remember having the Collectors edition of Stranglehold on the PS3 and it came with Hardboiled on the disk. I want to say that Stranglehold was one of the first demos that I played on the PS3, so I have it pressed in my memory. I think I will have to buy it again on GOG to play on my Deck. Honestly, that is why I came here, to see how it runs and if it would be an issue to set it up. I didn't think it would be, but I had to check it out anyway.

Hey Barry! Just installed it through the Heroic launch and I can’t seem to get the game to launch under any proton tricks. Any ideas? Looks like it runs great on your deck

Hey! I just used default settings across the board - installed and added a steam shortcut, then it worked in Game Mode. Try uninstalling and reinstalling -- alternatively try installing via Lutris. I have Lutris and Heroic - sometimes I get better results with one than the other.

Great vid, i seen you comment about the name of the game and logos that may keep you from finding community controller layouts. How do you rename a non steam game so that community layouts will be found for controller? Thx

In Desktop Mode, in Steam, right click the game and go to properties, then you can rename it. It's also possible there are no layouts, even if the game is named correctly. Some people delete their layouts for whatever reason.

Hey I know the video's a bit older now but I want to know if you could help me with the controls. For some reason my steam deck is being detected as a controller and I'm only seeing keyboard inputs

@@khalidalsoufi2570 it's honestly weird since the game has native gamepad support. At this point I've just mapped the buttons myself which doesn't feel too good but it's better than nothing

I heard you asking "who publish this game, I have no idea" and skipped ahead. But the publisher would be GOG/CDProjekt under license of the game owner. So in this case it would be WB Games since Warner Brothers own Midway Chicago which currently is called NetherRealm studios.

Where can I find a controller profile? I search for stranglehold in in the search tab but it comes up with nothing. I can only use the touch screen. Am I doing something wrong?

When you're in the game, open the Steam menu, go into controller settings, and then check the community layouts. There should be a few options there. If not, double check the name of the game is entered correctly in steam (and remove any ®™ logos). The community layouts search by the Steam name.

Emulating via RPCS3. It most certainly does NOT run great on the Deck via emulation. Tried today. Massive frame rate slowdowns in most gunfights, from the very beginning…bad sound distortion during gunplay. You must have lowered all the settings.
