Melanie is an avid supporter of the campaign to silence and ban legitimate condemnation of the brutal Israeli apartheid regime which is regularly condemned by the vast majority of countries at the UN for gross human rights abuses and can break international laws with impunity because it's funded by the US and supported by the UK. The Biblical claim on Palestine is based on a fictional 6,000 year-old Earth where Neanderthals never existed. In the real world, most people have some Neanderthal DNA because our ancestors mated with Neanderthals. Even if a race of people ruled a land thousands of years ago, it doesn't give them the right to return many years later, force nearly one million people from their homes and land, kill them if they refuse to leave. Install a ruthless system of slaughter, genocide against the indigenous people. But Zionism insists Zionists must be allowed to. Many Jews rightly condemn Zionism as a political movement which uses Judaism as a front.

Thank you John for a wonderful interview with Melanie Phillips 11. I want you to know that I do agree with a lot of what Melanie is saying about what happened to our country too. For example with Jordan Peterson. He was very much shut down by the University because he would not speak the way some figured he should. We I believe in Free Speech. I believe in individualism, and I believe that each one of us has DNA, and coding, and a helix, and I believe in family that is committed, because of what we commit to with a partner. I believe in the children of that said family, being supported, Love and cared for in all ways, by both parents. Now as much as that might a Utopia way of thinking, if someone broke that vow and commitment there are divorce courts, but it is my obligation to work at a marriage as hard as I can possibly conjure up. Also if someone who is suppose to be a President calls Canada their enemy, when I know we are not the enemy of the USA, then I speak. Not out of place, but it is my duty to do so as a tax payer because we have children in this country that we do not want damaged. Now I understand Melanie and her thinking, but the children have been through a lot in our country, as with the USA, and right now they need family to stand there with them, and for them in our country. Trump is not it. Although he is entitled to opinion, and his tribe is as you put it, but we like to have higher Values, higher morals, and ethics of all our leaders, including Universities, including Politicians, including the Royal family of England. So if we sound harsh with our arguments, and debates, I wonder, are we being inclusive, or are we fighting for the rights to be heard by our Countries that haven't heard a thing about women. Nothing. For example, you do never say as a President....you can grab women's pussies. That is not debatable. You must never call an Allie an enemy when you are Trump, if they are not your enemy. That is not debatable. There are some things that are debatable, in ethics, morals, and Values..the Value of a dollar, that is certainly debatable. The Value of a University and it's departments that put dollars before ethics, for example....The ethics of the Atom Bomb being produced, that is debatable, but our children's lives are not debatable, not because I am being arrogant or won't listen, but because I do listen. So I understand the apprehension of those that don't know for sure the outcome of this election in the USA, but I do know our children are not dispensable. Thank you John. I do appreciate so much what you are saying...and tell Melanie I would love to debate, or listen or learn about what it is her viewpoint is from an objective point of view of family, ethics, Values, and Morals, and all the University data about our history, our DNA, our RNA, our proteins, our cultures, our idea of RACE that came out in the 1730's but lets do that after this next election.....when our children are a little safer. Thank you John. Carolyn D Hogarth Osoyoos BC. Canada.

Melanie Phillips, a truly remarkable and brave woman. A woman who has the will power to stick to her well founded reasoning, which is based upon truth which she has gained over her time and from experience. There is not one thing she has said here that I disagree with. Her change from the left, or fantasy to reality, I have also experienced in my time. I used to place myself on the spectral left, this was about 30 years ago, but as I have gained in logic and wisdom I came to a place where there was no doubt that the left was, and still is, ideologically infantile beyond belief. I have nothing but total understanding for Melanie, and I hope she realises that her thinking is totally correct, based upon reasoning and fact and spot on! Melanie I hope you read this and I ask you to never doubt yourself in the way you think. In conclusion Melanie I want to tell you that I am one of those men, as a father, who lost total contact with a son who I have not seen for 15 years now. He was given over to his mother by feminist extremists who were basically running the children's family courts, and also rife within the mother biased organisation called "Cafcass". I was totally humiliated by Cafcass and lost all contact with the son I love, who I brought up from birth until he was 7 years old. But now all I have is memories of him at that age, I wish I could see him again before I pass away. The British traditional family has been destroyed and dissected by feminism which has tried to do away with fathers and succeeded, so it seems. I know... I was one Father who was destroyed by them and lost my son because of them. Get in touch Melanie I want to tell you my story, you will be shocked by it, and what I have been through, as I fought for my son over 4 years of hell. Look for me on Facebook. I hope you read this. Regards to you, from Paul Manning.

My experience tells me that as a child of family breakdown being born in the sixties is that the "expectation" of husband and wife of one another has and is being undermined, twisted by a dystopian idea that the original commitment of a man and woman to commit to a life long relationship in the propagation of the species ergo children caused and causes a "consumer" throw away view that the family unit is as about as lasting as that of cling wrap. A country and its society is only as strong as the majority of it citizens which would/ should make up the constituency of its largest component and that is the family.

I am listening to this talk February 22/23. Yesterday Putin gave his “State of the Union” address. The essence of his talk, put into policy the ideals described by the guest as recognizing democracy. His speech identified the next steps toward strengthening Russia’s sovereignty with a collective vision and purpose. He proposed ideals for family, individual ways that each Russian could work toward this common purpose by starting businesses and ensuring each Russian would share in the prosperity. Each family would be rewarded through significant tax reduction for having more children, thereby,recognizing women’s contribution to the future of Russian Sovereignty. In short, if one wants to see the wholesome application of these espoused principles, I suggest Russia should be considered as a possible model for direction. 🇨🇦❤️

She is able to show the entire story. The story we all understand. I do think Trump is a leader, but the Progressives will not allow anyone to lead no matter who they are. Trump has courage which has brought much to a head to head battle. This battle I believe is the inevitable question that the West has danced around for far too long. It's a question that cannot be avoided, unfortunately. In truth, we all will have to choose a side and understand why we come down on that side realistically. To understand that no ideology gives us utopia, but reality must be staked in the premises of one of two choices. Either you want the responsibility of freedom or you want the hope (which has proven to fail) that people will want the best for their community over themselves, and tyranny will not be necessary to keep the masses from knowing this methodology doesn't work.

But, I do not approach Trump from the same liberal path she tread for so long... She would be offended to think that her past liberal is still deep in her core and it shows just a bit. About Trump... he is not the orator that can explain her thoughts and his approach seems to rile the masses. Truth is... she knows that would happen even if he had the JFK or Ronald Reagan gift of speaking. So Trump just does it his way and we have learned to understand him.

“People believe in witchcraft and paganism more and more today...” LoL, she’s right about that!
@Redrosewitch4 жыл бұрын
Which is doesn't have to be a bad thing. I'm Pagan myself. But I won't say that there's not a great many viewpoints being expressed that I am not at all happy with. I'm not sure that some young 'Pagans' and 'Witches' are properly aware that a Spiritual path focusing more on freedom, doesn't mean that we shouldn't still have a moral code. Because we certainly should.

I used to read her in one of the papers when I lived in London before I moved to Scotland. She gives explanations to much I have experienced over recent decades without knowing the rhyme or reasons behind it all. I would like clarification on how all of this could impact on Mental Health and how complicit the professions seem to have been in silencing the general public with prescriptions which, of course, are no substitute for Identities thrown to the wind. Don't you think?

Really relevant and breath-of-fresh-air discussion. In a fit of pre-Christmas boredom earlier this week I was watching a TV show from UK (hosted by an Australian). One of the guests was Miriam Margolyes, who commented (quite seriously, I believe) that were she PM her first priority would be to ensure the vote for Brexit is overturned, and that UK would remain solidly in the EU. She then went on to say that the Brexit voters didn't know what they were voting for, and so their votes didn't really count. She effectively said that if given the option she would overturn democracy (or what is left of it) in the UK. Sounds like hate speech to me.

I don't think that phrase means what you think it means, but it's definitely that dangerous attitude of denigration towards the feelings of a large swathe of the population that informed the Leave result in the first place. FWIW, I still believe that leaving the EU is a reckless experiment backed by too much emotional thinking on both sides, and that it will almost certainly reduce us to being a vassal state of the US in the long run and ruin our national self-determination. I'd like to know why I'm wrong on this, and see an actual plan for how we'll carry it through in a constructive way, but I also remember that my "side" (Remain) helped create this situation by backing everyone else into a corner with shamefully arrogant accusations of racism and stupidity. We can't afford any more backbiting. We need to stop the recriminations and demand clarity from the snakes in charge about how *exactly* their plan will concretely address the legitimate concerns of the people that produced the Leave result in the first place.

Having been raised in a family of five children, where my father was physically violent to his wife, and all of his children (except one, who was carefully chosen) I bless my parents for having stayed together, until we were all "off their hands". Then my mother went to a Scots family wedding, and didn't return to her English husband, my father. Nevertheless, loving life myself, as I do, I bless BOTH of my parents for providing us with food, shelter, and wonderful Christmases! As to Melanie's point about the UK Parliament having been "against the people", even after the General Election, we have that same Parliament: only the PM now has a majority, to enable him to scupper the 'BREXIT' for which we voted in 2016. He will do nothing about Immigration from the Commonwealth; and he certainly will not tackle immigration from ISLAM!

He might limit immigration from the Commonwealth but not from Islamic shithole scroungers. That would be ' Islamophobia ' and in cowardly Liberal Britain that charge is now classed worse than baby rape. In fact this may be the last decade of democratic elected Government in Britain before Mohammed takes over.

@Julia A Climb down from your high horse! A woman with five children; all conceived during the 1950s and early 60s? Do some homework on British social history. When my late mother returned to her home in Elgin, and complained about her violent husband, she was sent packing.....by her own parents! And, I repeat, it is not for an 'Identity Politician', like yourself, to dictate to anyone HOW they OUGHT to feel. It is for them to decide. And my siblings do not consider ourselves 'victims' (no doubt, much to your disgust!) and we are all pleased our parents provided us with stability until our late teens.

As far a conservatives go Melanie isn't too bad. Some of her ideas are rational - her critique of academia is spot on, and so his her view that the Left have rejected reason and objectivity. That being said, many of her more religious ideas are wrong. She expressed the idea - shared by many other Conservatives - that happiness comes from community. This is not only disastrously wrong, but evil. Happiness does come from self-actualisation - when that concept is defined and explained objectively. self-actualisation is about bettering oneself by pursuing certain rational values that enrich ones life, values like having a productive career, a loving relationship and good friends. But that doesn't mean that you can attain happiness by any means - a person is cannot be happy to the extent that he is dishonest with himself and others, a man that cons a women into marrying him cannot be happy to the extent that he lies to himself and his wife about the nature of the marriage. Happiness is a value which, objectively, is the product of virtuous acts. One can only be happy if a person achieves rational values by acts of independence, honesty. integrity, justice and productivity. Melanie's communistic version of happiness implies that one can only be happy in a community i.e. one acts like a parasite feeding off of other people. But that's not the case at all, there are many miserable people in communities today. And many independent-minded people such as myself who are very happy. Happiness is not a product of a certain number, or a certain arrangement of human beings, it comes from hard-work and as as a result of successful action in life. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mIe9e4CagtWcmJo

She is absolutely right about the dearth of STATESMEN (persons) in today's political realm. We have lots of politicians who are quick to capitalize on and exploit certain woke narratives but they are wolves in sheep's clothing. We desperately need a "Churchill" in the UK and a Statesman of his caliber in the USA. There are many who have the potential (Trump isn't among them) - most of whom will be silenced by the ignorant voters.

Mark Twain was right when he said, "History does not repeat itself but it does often rhyme" .... About our common cultural struggle: I mean we are in a comprehensive spiritual war, an invisible cultural struggle where some stand, others fall. International oligarchs are tightening the grip on our societies around the world. Look at Ireland. Then look at Poland, Hungary and Russia. The common denominator: all are nominal Christian nations, yet the fate of Ireland blatantly stands out: Ireland - one of the most conservative Catholic nations in Europe, has been taken over. The Moral Order has collapsed; relativism prevails in Ireland: abortion legalized - in the wake of gay beliefs. The difference? Poland and Hungary have not forgotten the time with the Communists, and still hold on to their traditions. About tyranny: "Hate speech" legislation and "non-crime incidents" are commonplace in several nations: "Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences" .. What the hell does that mean? What do these trends mean? It means that we are at the head of a society where subjective (ideological) perceptions of crime are judged, at the discretion of rulers, as if it were objectively, "When law and morality contradict each other, the citizen has the cruel alternative; either to lose his moral sense, or his respect for the law" (Frédéric Bastiat, in "The Law") Christopher Hitchens said: "The essence of tyranny is not bulletproof legislation, it is arbitrary legislation. Organized resistance? Difficult when we live a split, atomized existence, the state replaces the family. The only moral sermon we get is in the form of a synthetic top-down climate morale. Our institutional life sources for enlightening the importance of common objective morality (yes, the church) have been systematically weakened. You're probably laughing at me now ... I might as well laugh and shake my head. Reflection ... For those who should reach all the way down here .. Catholic Archbishop Fulton Sheen explained back in the 1950s the difference between two Greek words "symboline" and "diaboline". (Diaboline = diabolic / devil) Symboline means to unite something, to pull it together and form a larger, more complete meaning. Diaboline means tearing things apart. Split things apart. Destroying categories. In that sense, we live a diabolical world that needs symbols.
