What I've noticed in the 40 + decades as a member of the mormon church is this. Most, if not all, active mormons are very fearful people. They have been indoctrinated to be so, conditioned and manipulated to do as their told and not to question authority. That's why so few of them will make a stand for anything except their hokey cult. They love the warm fuzzy speeches from church leaders, driven by emotion, they unconditionally accept everything their leaders dribble out as being truth. And if their leaders get it wrong, they get a pass, or, everyone is taking it out of context. I've seen hundreds stand up in Sacrament Meeting proclaiming they "know", the church is true, and I know they were just parroting a subjective view of what they were taught. Mormons will refuse to look objectively at it's very own history. And those researchers who produce it are critisized as being anti-mormon. All they can do is attack the individual who does the research when they have no evidence to counter church history. Thus the Church is a load of bollocks.

+Hale Hafa... In order for you to believe mormonism you have to believe the word of one man, Joseph Smith, whose contradictions are monumental, who was a known charlatan and polyandrous sex maniac, who also groomed and manipulated young girls to marry him. In other words, he was the typical sex creep that all cults produce. Study the Church history Hale, do not be afraid, you can leave and ALWAYS believe in Christ.

Hale H .... I will explain what that means. Many of us who have discovered the church to be fraudulent have left the church, resign their membership, but unfortunately also leave behind a belief in God. Try not to bamboozle yourself with your own misunderstanding. Anyone has the right to believe in God, and in Jesus Christ. Whether they're belong to a church or not. Even if they leave mormonism. Plain and simple aint it?. I have not yet resigned my membership because it means nothing to me. But I have every right to continue to believe in Christ! Are you telling me I no longer have that right because I've (figuratively) left?.

Hale ... You're still banging on about a church behind me, as if I attend some other religious denomination. I DO NOT my friend, please listen!. Why do you call what I've said to be hypocrisy? Please explain?? Mate if you want a REAL hypocrite check out the church historians records of the life of Joseph Smith, you will find a real deal whack job there brother. You know as well as I do that for anything to properly survive for it to be what it says to be then it has to pass the acid test right? (figuratively speaking ok?). For example, if a house is built properly, and has a firm foundation, good quality exterior and interior, and the designers and the builder ensure the buyer it's of the best quality, then in order for it to be what they claim it to be it must be tested yes? Tested against the elements, tested against earthquakes and storms, in some cases extreme heat or extreme cold. These opposing things do not come from the designers or the builder, the ones who have said that the house is the best quality, the real test comes from external forces, and the lack of quality of the building will show, a test never comes from those who tell you what they claim. So naturally , if the house has a shonky designer (in this case Joseph Smith), and the shonky builders just parrot the designers claims (the Church leaders), then when a storm comes the house (the Mormon Church) fails that test. So why have so many people (members) left the house?, can they all be wrong? no, of course not. In order for a house to be of good quality you have to understand the opposing elements that test it. You do not. You fear looking at those things, right?. When you say that I'm in denial then we have to both make that same claim, as I believe you are in denial my friend. As a formon (former mormon), I've lived on your side of the fence, you have to believe what you are told as to what it's like on my side, because you have no idea whatsoever! Do not fear Hale, fear is what is hiding behind the pink cloud you sit upon my friend. (*p.s I hope my little story doesn't cause you too much discomfort and ???confusion??? as my previous comments appear to have done).

Hale .. The Mormon Church teaches Mormonism, not Christianity. I will not align myself with those leaders in the church who are far from being Christlike. They speak of him with their lips but their hearts are far from him. You skipped over what I wrote about William Law, what he said about Joseph Smith. Why do you think William Law said such a thing about Smith? What do think may have happened between Smith and Law? What does the church teach about William Law? (Or is it yet another feather duster passing by yet another apostate? - which is all too common and typical of church teachings). What is your opinion on this matter Hale?. Please reply, I'm interested in your take.

I truly admire the people interviewed in this video. Lynn, Michael, and Sandra are excellent in this video They were full believing mormons , but their experience has caused them to arrive to where they're at today. Like TBM's on this thread they were just like them, and finally, (like myself as well) understand why the things they have learned does not make sense. My own awakening has helped me to connect the dots. I am finally free of the deception and the conformity, like so many others.

I've been reading the Bible like there's no tomorrow, and reading different translations instead of just King James. The Book of Mormon doesn't stand up to DNA, archaeological, anthropological, or linguistic evidence. Joseph Smith and friends had lively imaginations! Joseph even dreamed up that angel with a flaming sword, so he could take other men's wives. If only the internet were around when I was a young adult! I didn't believe any anti-mormon literature because the information was so crazy that I thought for sure it was inspired of Satan. Now we know! 'Bye 'Bye forever, Book of Mormon.

If you have ever read the book of Acts and the epistles you will see that the true church was nothing like Mormonism. The true church never said you have to believe the Book of Mormon is true in order to get into heaven. the true church did not worship a god from another planet, the true church did not mock Jesus Christ and say He was the brother of Lucifer (This is blasphemy.), there was no mandatory tithing, no temple recommend, no temple (they met in homes), no secret handshakes, no veil was put back up that God destroyed, no baptizing for the dead (I Cor. 15 is talking about pagans who baptized for the dead. (Otherwise what will THEY do who are being baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, then why are THEY baptized for them?), the true church never said you are damned if you deny polygamy, they did not believe you could become a god someday, they did not have priests (Hebrews 7 Jesus is our High Priest forever after the order of Melchizedek), the true church never said you have to believe Joseph Smith is a true prophet of God in order to get into heaven and so on. Joseph Smith was misled by Satan himself. He was into the occult, was mentally ill and hated God.

@Fact Check Stop trying to deceive me, otherwise do better research and acknowledge such subjects like the plural marriage are more complex and detailed. First of all, Joseph Smith never wanted to do polygamy, if you did the research you would of seen what was written in his and those who knew hims diaries, they all declare he hated plural marriage. Second of all, learn that destroyed only means casted out of God's presence for their disobedience in D&Cs 132. Third, just like to Abraham, God commanded certain individuals to do plural marriage to give seed and sealings on behalf of ancestors, Joseph Smith did not have sex with teenagers, look through every dictionary you can find at "marriage" and I bet not one definition will include sexual activity. Fourth, plural marriage was not a permanent commandment proven by D&Cs 132:66, 66 And now, as pertaining to this law, verily, verily, I say unto you, I will reveal more unto you, hereafter; therefore, let this suffice for the present. Behold, I am Alpha and Omega. Amen. "let this suffice for the present." The term present proves this was no eternal commandment. Fifth, Joseph Smith was against those not commanded by God to do plural marriage, not the people who were commanded just like the prophet Abraham. Jacob 2:30 30 For if I will, saith the Lord of Hosts, raise up seed unto me, I will command my people; otherwise they shall hearken unto these things. "otherwise" The use of the term otherwise proves God will make exceptions, just like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and more were exceptions. Fact Check, to qualify for that profile name you should fact check yourself and stop telling partial truths which are deceivings, deceiving is bearing false witness. Show me your sources, I bet you've twisted the words, left crucial information out, used aporling sources and/or intentionally lied to me.
@danielmoore4024
@danielmoore4024 5 жыл бұрын
@Fact Check Once again you're full of rubbish and partial, twisted truths. The most basic one is about plural marriage being against the law. Plural marriage was not against the law until 1896 when Utah became a state. You clearly misunderstood what was meant by exceptions, if not you will have to call the prophets in the Bible false prophets, your reasoning for Joseph applies to all prophets. The ones who continued polygamy are the sects, the ones who broke off like when some broke off because of the word of wisdom. Since you're talking like you can be as disobedient as you want and still receive the gift of Salvation, you obviously think obedience is not required. Regarding truth all together, I know all the other Doctrines are false and did so before I even heard of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because there's obvious truths they all deny. Lots of truths are not in their Doctrines even though they are so obvious, even in the Bible they are. The pre-existance is an obvious truth proven by both the Bible and an easy question about their beliefs. They claim the world was founded before us and that Jesus created the world for us. That's a clear contradiction, how could Christ create a world for us if there was no us? Why in Ephesians 1 does it talk about the apostles been predestinated? The pre should be a clue. Why did Lucifer rebel to become Satan? They must be a reason. So many truths proven by simple questions and scriptures that they all deny.

@Pren10
@Pren10 7 жыл бұрын
Dexter Francis it is good. Also Numbers 11:24-29 The burden of the Lord is divide among 70 Elders of the church and given to as many as are called of the Lord to do his work with authority. Not by the taking or request, but by the spirit of the almighty God. In this case it was 70 and the power is that of prophecy. We call it the keys of the priesthood which if a man holds them all, is a prophet and seer and is the greatest of power that the Lord bestows upon man. still, in numbers 12 he distinguishes between these 70 and the "one" called to administer as the "prophet" or final mouthpiece of the Lord. For at any one time the Lord will call only one leader. And he had power to act in the name of His and call down the powers of heaven to Mork miracles and wonders among the purple according to their faith and the will of the Lord to bless or to smite. After that the Lord Took up Moses into his bosom the authority to lead was given unto Aaron. The authority to administer in the secular affairs of the church and temple also requires this priesthood as was given to the sons of Aaron at that time to act as priests and to the sons of Levi to administer the affairs of sacrifices (numbers 3). All done with authority. Such is the order in the church today accept that the offices are held by worthiness and not by tribe. The higher offices in each are held by worthiness and by calling.

As a young man, I was introduced to a very famous and well authored researcher and archeologist who lived in Syosset long island NY. He had been using a book that was called the Book of Mormon to trace some ancient migrations and had been highly accurate in his assessments and conclusions. My assumption was he was a follower of this Church. He was not, but rather a researcher that said something to me I shall never forget. I asked him if he knew if this book was true and he said, "It is as far as I am concerned" to which I then asked "how come you are not a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints" to which he said, "I am not a religious person and I don't know how Joesph Smith got that book or by what means, all I know if that it has been a map and a guide for me and many other archeologists, many of whom will never admit it." I suppose the real question is...who gave this to Joseph Smith.
@fayelewis5476
@fayelewis5476 6 жыл бұрын
Joseph Smith was into the occult. He was inspired by Satan. Of course there are other books he copied from. He copied twenty chapters from the book of isaiah. He also copied from Solomon Spaulding. The Smithsonian Institution has never used the Book of Mormon in any way as a scientific guide. Smithsonian archaeologists see no direct connection between the archaeology of the New World and the subject matter of the book. The physical type of the American Indian is basically Mongoloid, being most closely related to that of the peoples of eastern, central, and northeastern Asia. Archaeological evidence indicates that the ancestors of the present Indians came into the New World - probably over a land bridge known to have existed in the Bering Strait region during the last Ice Age - in a continuing series of small migrations beginning from about 25,000 to 30,000 years ago. Present evidence indicates that the first people to reach this continent from the East were the Norsemen who briefly visited the northeastern part of North America around A.D. 1000 and then settled in Greenland. There is nothing to show that they reached Mexico or Central America. One of the main lines of evidence supporting the scientific finding that contacts with Old World civilizations, if indeed they occurred at all, were of very little significance for the development of American Indian civilizations, is the fact that none of the principal Old World domesticated food plants or animals (except the dog) occurred in the New World in pre-Columbian times. American Indians had no wheat, barley, oats, millet, rice, cattle, pigs, chickens, horses, donkeys, camels before 1492. (Camels and horses were in the Americas, along with the bison, mammoth, and mastodon, but all these animals became extinct around 10,000 B.C. at the time the early big game (sic) hunters spread across the Americas.) Iron, steel, glass, and silk were not used in the New World before 1492 (except for occasional use of unsmelted meteoric iron). Native copper was worked used (sic) in various locations in pre-Columbian times, but true metallurgy was limited to southern Mexico and the Andean region, where its occurrence in late prehistoric times involved gold, silver, copper, and their alloys, but not iron. There is a possibility that the spread of cultural traits across the Pacific to Mesoamerica and the northwestern coast of South America began several hundred years before the Christian era. However, any such inter-hemispheric contacts appear to have been the results of accidental voyages originating in eastern and southern Asia. It is by means certain that even such contacts occurred; certainly there were no contacts with the ancient Egyptians, Hebrews, or other peoples of Western Asia and the Near East. No reputable Egyptologist or other specialist on Old World archaeology, and no expert on New World prehistory, has discovered or confirmed any relationship between archaeological remains in Mexico and archaeological remains in Egypt. Reports of findings of ancient Egyptian, Hebrew, and other Old World writings in the New World in pre-Columbian contexts have frequently appeared in newspapers, magazines, and sensational books. None of these claims has stood up to examination by reputable scholars. No inscriptions using Old World forms of writing have been shown to have occurred in any part of the Americas before 1492 except for a few Norse rune stones which have been found in Greenland. T

English is an extremely volatile language, and it's uses, meanings and pronunciations are changing rapidly, even in my lifetime. We have so many words for the same things and so many words that can mean completely different things, that it's no wonder translations need constant adaptation. The Bible is also being adapted. I see many different translations and updated versions today, with "modern" translations that have arguably changed the meanings of some passages. English is so unstable that what you think you said is not necessarily what I think I heard. Then there is political correctness: a monkey wrench thrown into our language that makes people dance around certain words and expressions and if you want to be taken seriously you have to adjust your speech accordingly. How many people today can really understand Shakespeare, without studying it with a cliff notes or classroom? If I had written a book in the 1800's I would most certainly want to update at least some of it for today's language and culture. I have a difficult time reading anything written before 1940-50. It's tedious and often hard to tell what's being said exactly.

@@russelledwards7084 The ways of God were perverted and the scriptures were wrested with over 1500 years ago. I'll prove you pervert the Word of God with your "it's either Heaven or Hell" theory and Creeds. What happens from the crucifixion to the resurrection proves your Heaven or Hell theory false. Christ taught you must be reborn to enter the Kingdom of God. At the crucifixion he said to the thief on the right "be with me in paradise", so Christ and the thief went to the same place. Since the thief couldn't enter the Kingdom of God paradise is not Heaven, paradise is not Hell. So Christ and the thief went to neither Heaven nor Hell from their crosses. John 20:17 17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. After the resurrection Christ said he still hadn't ascended to his Father, why wasn't the Father in paradise? Since Paradise is neither Heaven nor Hell, where is Paradise? 1 Peter 4:6 6 For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit. Who preaches the gospel to the dead, and how if they're already in Heaven or Hell? Those three days between the crucifixion and resurrection Christ was preaching his gospel to the dead in paradise. In John 20:17 Christ confesses he has a God, "and to MY GOD". Since Christ is God and he has a God, Christ and the Father are two separate gods as one in purpose. John 1:1 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Since the Word was God, and the Word was with God, God was with God. They must be two Gods in order for God (the Word) to be with God. 2 Nephi 9:28-29 28 O that cunning plan of the evil one! O the vainness, and the frailties, and the foolishness of men! When they are learned they think they are wise, and they hearken not unto the counsel of God, for they set it aside, supposing they know of themselves, wherefore, their wisdom is foolishness and it profiteth them not. And they shall perish. 29 But to be learned is good if they hearken unto the counsels of God. You don't hearken unto the counsels of God, all other churches hearken unto the precept of pastors, they say your heart is deceitful so you won't ask God, isn't that Satan's desire "don't ask God for answers", "you don't need to prayer". Pastors deny the words of the prophet Ezekiel when he says God replaces that stoney heart because they want you to listen to their precept. Isaiah 29:13 13 ¶ Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: "taught by the precept of men:" 2 Nephi 28:3-4 3 For it shall come to pass in that day that the churches which are built up, and not unto the Lord, when the one shall say unto the other: Behold, I, I am the Lord’s; and the others shall say: I, I am the Lord’s; and thus shall every one say that hath built up churches, and not unto the Lord- 4 And they shall contend one with another; and their priests shall contend one with another, and they shall teach with their learning, and deny the Holy Ghost, which giveth utterance. "they shall teach with their learning," (Pastors), that's how your abominable creeds were invented, instead of hearkening unto the counsel of God, they hearkened unto their own wisdom.

"Not the same Christ" We believe in ONE God, the Trinity as Christ taught in the Bible John 17: [20] Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; [21] **That they all may be ONE; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be ONE IN US** that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. [22] **And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, EVEN AS WE ARE ONE** We reject the "one substance entity" heresy of the Nicene Creed. Christ Himself refutes this false doctrine: --Not my will, but thine be done -- Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father (after the resurrection) -- The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. -- John 7 [16] Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.[17] If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. The LDS church rejects the false doctrine of Nicea, "one substance entity", but it accepts Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, as the Son of God, and the only path back to the Father. The name of the church declares it, and each week we partake of the sacrament (Lord’s Supper or Communion) to renew our covenant to take His name upon us.

Grace Marie That's your opinion not a fact. The person above quoted verses of the Bible that clearly state and support the falsehood of the concept of the "trinity" but all you could articulate was an insult. You said that because you are obviously ignorant of the Gospel and of Christ and have never even read the Bible. But the facts are there, those are the words of Christ, are you going to deny even his words?

@@ryanrivera5611 If I were you I would stop trusting untrustworthy resources, there's no doubt in my mind that whatever you think you know about Joseph Smith is twisted information, partial truths and some lies all together. I've looked up all the things people accuse him of only to find the critics like you did nothing but attempt to deceive me. Fortunately I don't just take someone's word, I find out for myself through the info in its original context.

I read in the Book of Mormon almost everyday. I personally believe it to be a modern day miracle. It is given to us by God as a second witness of Jesus Christ.
@fayelewis5476
@fayelewis5476 6 жыл бұрын
What Jesus Christ is it a second witness of? The LDS 'Jesus' who is the brother of Lucifer or the true Jesus Christ who created Lucifer? Why didn't Joseph Smith believe in it? The Book of Mormon condemns polygamy. Joseph Smith practiced it. The Book of Mormon says God is eternal. Joseph Smith says God the Father has a body of flesh and bones. “For the Lord GOD does nothing without revealing his secret to his servants the prophets.” The Bible teaches that the last prophet in history was John the Baptist, who concluded his ministry before Jesus’ death. “The Law and the Prophets were until John; since then the good news of the kingdom of God is preached…” (Luke 16:16). Whenever God wanted to communicate something to His people, He spoke through these prophets. So, an important question for us today is, “Do we still need prophets?” The answer, from the Bible, is an emphatic NO. Here are three reasons: FIRST: JESUS REPLACES THE PROPHETS Before Jesus’ time, God’s people needed mediators to stand between them and God. These priests and prophets provided a way for sinful people to communicate to and hear from God. But today, we no longer need these roles! Why? Because we have JESUS, the greater priest and prophet. Hebrews 1:1 says, “Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son…” Jesus supersedes the Old Testament Prophet! In every way, He replaces our need for another man to stand between us and God. “For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all…”(1 Timothy 2:5-6). TODAY, GOD’S SPIRIT IS GIVEN TO ALL CHRISTIANS! Under the Old Covenant, God’s Spirit was specially given to His prophets to equip them for their unique role. But this special giving of His Spirit was extremely limited. At any given time in Israel’s history only a small handful of people were gifted in this way. The rest of the people then, were dependent upon these Spirit-filled men as intermediaries between them and God. But now God’s Spirit is given freely to every Christian! Before Jesus’s crucifixion, He taught His disciples… “I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of Truth…The Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you” (John 14:26). This promise was fulfilled after Jesus’ ascension on the day of Pentecost. On that day God gave His Holy Spirit to the men and women waiting in Jerusalem. These 120 Christians immediately began preaching the Gospel in different languages and when the crowd asked what was happening, Peter explained that this had always been God’s plan. In Acts 2:17 Peter quotes the prophet Joel saying, “And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy…” (Acts 2:17). There are no longer just a few who are Spirit-filled amongst God’s people, because now He gives the Holy Spirit to every believer. Ephesians 1:13-14 says, “When you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, [you] were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it” (Ephesians 1:13-14). We no longer need Prophets for God to speak to us because every Christian has immediate and unrestricted access to God by His Spirit who dwells within us! TODAY, GOD’S MESSAGE IS PROCLAIMED BY ALL CHRISTIANS The primary purpose of Prophets was to receive a message from God, then deliver it to the people. God’s chosen messengers in the Old Testament were prophets, and His summary message was that people needed a Savior. Jesus teaches us that God’s message for people today is the good news, and that the ones charged to deliver this message are all of His disciples. In Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus says, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:18-20). This is why the Bible teaches that the last prophet in history was John the Baptist, who concluded his ministry before Jesus’ death “The Law and the Prophets were until John; since then the good news of the kingdom of God is preached…” (Luke 16:16). Today, God sends His disciples to proclaim His message rather than Prophets. What’s the Point? We no longer need a man to mediate between us and God because we have Jesus. God’s people no longer have restricted access to Him because the Holy Spirit dwells within us. And the ones tasked with delivering God’s message today, are Christians. Simply put, we no longer have a need for prophets. godlovesmormons.com/still-need-prophets/

So why are you saying that? What do you know about the LDS Church other than these few minutes of distorted and manipulated facts about its beliefs? If we want to know the truth of anything the best policy is always to learn it from the original source, not from those who have personal motives for giving false accounts.

Jesus ... These people were also members, good members, they looked into the church history and have studied it for years, even decades as in Sandra Tanners case. What they discovered is certainly not what the church leaders ever mentioned. They discovered things that hurt them, yet they were only looking into church history, and the church history books revealed some very disturbing aspects of the foundation of the church. A very sordid history that the church leaders hoped would be completely ignored and never see the light of day.
