I'd really LOVE to make ballistic cannons work on this... If I can live with the projectile speed, those have sooooo many advantages. One of the biggest: Concentrated Alpha damage... You only need to hit a couple of shots and the harder to hit they are, the fewer shots they need. Not playing right now due to the crippling bugs, but that's the first thing I'll test once they get it half playable, say mid 2026 or so... 😀

Id say it depends what you're hunting tbh... If you hunting Vultures the Cutlass Blue and Zeus MR (soontm) have a little cargo space to be able to disable and steal in one go. So if you're solo that's what you're doing anyway

@@roshallock5747 galdeen, 1800ms enough dps; best for team fights. More consistent dps on lights. But if i plan on solo combat, attritions and run anytime I see a light fighter.

I think the S5 is fair, they don't hit as hard as you'd think. F8c still slightly out dpses the Guardian.

I'd like to equip my Guardian with Attrition 5s but im scared of just this thing. Being engaged by a human light fighter. But then, the great alternative being Galdereens would make me less viable against PVE larger ships, I feel. By the way, I prefer the base because it can push on light fighters fighters better than the QI. The QI feels a lot like my Harbinger. The base allows me to be more aggressive. I'd like to see a fight, staggering Attritions with the base to see if it fares better.

There are some cannons that go 1300 and 1700m/s though, are those any good? The omniskys used to be meta for a while in MM (and lightstrikes to a lesser degree). Not sure now. What about light fighter vs heavy fighter matchups where turret gunners are the main source of damage and don't require nose on? The aim assist on those is kinda cracked now.

The fast ones currently do less sustained damage then repeaters. Their alpha is not high enough to be worth it atm.

i disagree with the first statement. for high skill pilots, sure but for low skill pilots, the maneuverability deficit in the heavy fighter will not compensate enough for the durability to firepower ratio differences. if you cloned me and had me fight myself in an arrow vs a guardian, the guardian would win 9 times out of 10 and i consider myself somewhere between a high novice and low adept combat pilot.
