Been playing thru the latest reboot games lately and love them. One of my favorite sets of games ever. That said, I liked the Tomb Raider movie with Alicia Vikander and really wanted her to come back for a sequel. If she doesn't, they really need to nail the next Lara Croft, as you said. She needs to be a cool character for sure!

Absolutely agree, I think she was perfect for the role. My only issue with the last TR film was it pretty much followed the 2013 game. We need Vikander back as LC and a new story/adventure 👍🏻

I’m with Ray. I’m more interested in seeing who they cast as the iconic Lara Croft and if she can take that character beyond what the other two actresses did. Hoping it’s a fun adventure series just like the games.

Well it's certainly the right place to do the series because you can't really reuse any sets and you will need to have at least 3 big set pieces in a 8 to 10 episode series. So it's going to be quite expensive to make.

I hope that this new version keeps the supernatural elements of the games. I enjoyed the most recent movie, but it lost some of its personality by trying to be too realistic. I also hope that they don't make Lara Croft too tame and nice. She is kind of a semi anti-hero in the older games. We will see.

If they go by the recent rebooted trilogy, it's not a swashbuckling adventure. It's more emotional. The movie with Alicia did not really captured it which is why it was just ok.

While Disney and Netflix are trying to be more circumspect with their big spending, Amazon is like "hold my Dom Perignon!" Tomb Raider as a franchise is essentially "Indiana Jones with a hot girl with two guns" That seems better suitex to movies than a series.
