It was all I could do, to calm her down, she had a bad heart, and just loved this guy, well........... His final ending came five yrs. ago, court again, facing 4 yrs. prison term, suddenly he passed on, who knows why? P.S. his girl-fri, was in and out of prison, for prost. and drugs. I was in this exact situation, except I am the wife my husband came back to when his girlfriend (who he moved out of state for) dumped him. I WISH he'd had this advice before coming back & I wish I had been smarter & not let him break my heart & come back like, "whoops. My bad." Here we are 8 years later, just bought a house (moved in THIS year) & he is jumping ship AGAIN because he says he "Can't do this." & he's too "overwhelmed" feels "trapped" & doesn't think he is actually "in love" with me & just wants to be alone. I basically let a man who ripped my heart to shreds come back to do it again because I wanted to believe he could actually change. I feel like I've had a man date me before that very reason and it sucked because he was my first love and he was only with me because I brought him peace instability. He literally cheated on me with the girl that he did nothing but argue with and when I left him he pursued her just to find out she didn't actually want him. She just like the attention and the money. He was giving her the money that he convinced me he was giving to his mom and I told him that didn't make logical sense like she has five boys. You are the youngest. Why is she asking you for money and she is married. She has a husband like why would she ask her youngest for money that we need. It didn't make any sense but he told me I was being selfish and that was his mom and I'm being a bad girlfriend so I kept my mouth shut. Turns out the entire time I was right it was BS. He was giving the money to his ex and cheating on me made me feel like a fool because my gut told me something was wrong but he told me I was being insecure. And when I left him and I told him what could have stopped him from cheating he told me nothing. He told me I did everything a man could possibly want but there was nothing more I could have done and I didn't know how to take that because if I gave you my everything and it still wasn't enough then what the hell. But I treat that like a lesson now. Now I know a cheater is going to be a cheater no matter what you do. So you just have to make sure you pick the right person for sure. It sucks though because it makes me feel like I've become jaded because I am now a lot less patient compared to how I used to be. There's a lot of things I just refused to tolerate early in a relationship and I'm so easily kicking men to the side. As soon as anything happens. And I know that's not okay. I just don't want to be made a fool again

The situation was triggering something from my childhood that at the time I was unaware of. It’s always a fun irony how this happens when people who begin their relationship by cheating on somebody are shocked when someone who had no aversion to cheating chooses to cheat when it’s with them. But this dude exhibits narcissistic behavior so it’s perfectly possible that he believed that she would cheat but never cheat on him as well. But I’ve also fallen for it like an idiot too because I was ridiculously insecure and was attached to feeling like a woman loved me even if I was treated poorly. I dated someone who I was convinced I loved but was really just believing there was love because I had low self confidence and didn’t think there was anything else out there. And she cheated on me and then out of idiocy and desperation I continued to lobby to get back together while she dated the dude she cheated with and then she cheated on him tons of times with me which I justified against them cheating together. And then she left that guy and dated another guy and she cheated on him with me which I’ll always regret and apologized to him for because he was a good guy and didn’t deserve it at all. But then we did get back together because somehow in my head it didn’t click that she cheated on me and then cheated on the next two guys with me and how any belief that she wouldn’t do it again now that we were back together was such a joke. Thankfully after those events I realized my mistakes and I apologized to the two guys I participated in the cheating against because it was such slimeball behavior by me. And there was a price to pay because I was unable to trust anybody relationally for years to where I just didn’t date at all until I met my wife and finally had resolved those issues.
